Site and admin panel is as slow as it can be

Okey guys! I am new to wordpress and this is my first site.
I first built a website on a localhost (bitnami), but failed to migrate it to my live domain. I for example tried to use the duplicator plugin to make a backup and upload it to my live domain using FTP, nothing worked so I deleted all public html files on Filezilla (from the live site where i had tried to upload a backup site) and downloaded WP from my hosting provider.
note that I built the website using the flatsome theme.
I then recreated the website by copy and pasting the html code from my old site to my new (where you “edit page”). After that I have uploaded new images, created new products etc.
However, my site is now extremely slow (website speed tests says that it takes between 9-14 seconds to load site), my admin panel is also extremely slow, every button i press takes several seconds (around 14 secs) to respond.
The plugins i have installed:

-GTmetrix for WordPress
-Jetpack by WordPress.com

-Query Monitor

When I first used the EWWW Image Optimizer to minimize all images it said that i had 400+ images, but i have only uploaded like 50 images. Can this be remains from my old attempts to migrate my site?

The only critical site health issue i get is “Your WordPress Address is set up to use HTTPS, but your website appears to be unavailable when using an HTTPS connection.

Talk to your web host about resolving this HTTPS issue for your website.”

I have contacted my hosting provider and they are working on it, but can this really be the only reason why my site (and admin panel) is so slow?!

I hope I have given all the info that is necessary, thankful for any help i can get. I am totally clueless and have done everything that i could think of (and the tutorials have thought me)

These days it is a moving target trying to keep up with the changes to WordPress and Elementor when making tutorials. I can’t fault any theme or plugin for that if they do make new tutorials on a regular basis. Everything I’ve learned about website development has been from tutorials and YouTube videos. I’m retired now so have the time to spend learning this way.

I’m in the process of building my third hobby website using OceanWP. It does what I need and gives me lots of choices, including the ability to disable features I don’t need. Things that led me to choosing this theme over the two other well known competitors were the amazing number of features available in the customizer and the added extras in the free version. I also really appreciate the getting started videos that were included. Even though they are slightly out of date, I was able to figure out how to work through setting up my latest website using Gutenberg. Knowing that customizing the theme was going to be so easy with the tutorials allowed me to make the leap away from the classic editor. A move I don’t regret.

-Removing/Editing Copyright

New to WordPress and I don’t know how to change my copyright at the bottom. I have googled and googled it and the videos mention something regarding the editor button, but for some reason my theme does not offer that. I was able to edit it a little by putting in my company name, but then it still shows the theme/creators information. I just want to remove that part and not sure how. I have the Business Insight Theme.

And if you guys know where else the editor button may be that would be much appreciated! I looked under ‘Appearances’ and it’s not there. Nor under Themes.

I see the sticky that says to not post here with problems regarding a certain theme, so I went to my themes support forum and nothing has been posted in it. I will post this same post in it just in case someone sees. But I just wanted to ask ya’ll. I am not sure what to do.

I have been testing and using all free versions of store locator plugins. I strongly recommen you stay away from this plugin. Unless of course you have up to five locations, in which case, you may do your job. Actually one has to pay for everything. What this plugibn has to do with an open source project? Each single question i have made, has the following answer: Links to the costly add-ons. There are alternatives, which do the job, feature rich, so bye bye

Remove title from pages (Delphinus theme)

Hi there,
I can’t seem to remove the titles from each of my pages. I’ve downloaded a plugin called Title Remover which didn’t work when I ticked it to remove the title from some pages. I’ve tried a code, but am not sure I was doing it right? (sorry I’m quite new to WordPress).

I’m using Delphinus theme and there is a big grey bar at the top of each page under my menu which is where it says the title of each page, I’d like to get rid of this big grey bit too.

Modify child themes – Very New to WordPress

Hi There, I know there are many answers however my head is just so confused with all of the different posts I have read.

I have turned our website Parent theme (Shop isle) into a child theme use child themify, and when I go to appearances in the www.remarpro.com dashboard and editor all I have is this:

Can I add codes/commands underneath all of the above text to do things to our website eg adding a search bar at the top of the page etc? website is www.dfsi.co.nz

Hi,

I have limited knowledge of html, css, and WordPress. I do not have any other coding knowledge. I’ve attempted to go through your Documentations tab, but unfortunately I don’t understand any of it.

I would like to use your plugin to create a Search Page on the front-end of my site. This would display links (bulleted list, checkboxes or dropdown menus) of my categories (healthcare settings) and tags (topics related to the healthcare settings). By clicking on one of these links, you should get a full list of files that have been marked with that “tag” or “category.”

I have gone through my Media Library and added “category” and “tags” to the desired files. (Please note, I did not tag everything as I don’t want images to display, only PDFs, word docx, excel docs). I was able to create an att. category cloud, when you hover over one of these links, it will say the amount of files in that category, so I know it sort of works.

When I select a link, the gallery doesn’t appear. I would prefer a list of icons (PDF icon, Word icon, etc.) to be displayed (title of document, category, and tags assigned). Once clicked on, you should be able to open the file directly, not the attachment page.

Questions
– Is it possible to click on a category and get a sub-list of tags?
– When I click on one of my categories, nothing displays. What am I doing wrong?

BestBuild Construction theme – is it easy to use?

Hi – Im pretty new to wordpress themes and page building but I’m thinking of dowloading BestBuild Contruction theme and setting it up fr new website. Does anyone know if it will be ok for me – for my novice level of expertise? I can find my way round a computer and have built a very basic ecommerce website via wordpress themes before.

Please help!! I am a newbie looking for a theme for a blog in which I am also going to incorporate social media (buddypress)…I am a quick learner but am new to putting up websites (my dream is to put up many websites in which to monetize)..I thought it a good idea to come to the www.remarpro.com forum as there are many here who are very experienced with wordpress and have invaluable information to share as you have already been through mistakes, stumbling blocks, etc….I just want some advice regarding a premium theme that would be suitable for what I am looking to do but be user friendly for a beginner…I am educating myself on what goes into picking a theme so that I can avoid as many mistakes as possible…I wanted to ask as well…is buddypress plug in too much to bite off for a newbie?…it is just my site is one that would completely benefit from a social media platform…any advice you could give would be most appreciated as I am very frustrated and want to find a theme so I can get my website started….thanks and would appreciate as many replies as possible….
