Staging Site Giving Error

I have a client that is using Bluehost for site. Wanted me to give site facelift for new year. Follow BH’s instructions to create a staging site via BH plugin in WordPress

Now I am only getting this message:

“There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

How do I tell WP to chill so I can go about making my changes like installing a new page builder etc.?

Where do you see latest new plugins released ?

I am more interested in what new things are coming up in WordPress. Sadly the way the plugins page is structured there is no way to locate what new plugins are arrived in wordpress plugins repo.
IMO wordpress does not focus on new plugins then they’re not promoting innovation of their platform but sticking to the most popular plugins developed in 200X’s reflects that the platform is getting old.

Why oh why isn’t there a “Newest Plugins” link?!

A new plugin repo website needs a link to the “Newest Plugins” to ALL users not just logged in or plugin authors. This was a major downfall of the last plugin repo website.

Let’s give the newest plugin authors a break and provide a link to the latest (and greatest) plugins… Who’s with me on this quest?

outbound http requests / new plugins page

I initially reported this to the bug tracker but they advised me to post it here. I hope you can help.

For a week or more, when I go to Find Plugins it won’t display any results, just:

An unknown error occurred
Try again

I can download and install plugins from the directory, and the installed plugins screen works fine, it’s just Add New Plugins.

Incidentally, I don’t know if this is connected but today I heard from someone who filled in my mailchimp/wordpress form 3 times but it never reached mailchimp. Could this be connected to issues with outbound http requests? Other forms filled in today did work.

No Button to Add New Plugins

The add new button that allows me to add new plugins is gone.

There is also a strange code (I am by no means a programmer and barely understand word press at all) that is showing up on my website under the main menu bar at the top of the page.

I’m not sure if that has anything to do with the new plug in button. I did check and I still have administrator permissions.
