I am using the theme ogee and installed a child theme under it.
I posted to the theme creators forum, but there has been no response, so I was hoping to get support here.
I looked thru online help on this and it seems really easy, just finding the place where the code is used and replacing the “next” and “previous” text.
But I also know that I have already broken the child theme and before trying again I would like a little specific guidance.
Thanks,
Henry
]]>You’ll see the template tags between line 36 and 39. I’m not sure why the links aren’t showing up. I’m using the exact same code on a different site and it’s working perfectly.
Help?
]]>Each new post displays on the site’s front page, though there seems to be no actual front page (as there would be an index.html page).
I had been going down the wrong design path, trying to implement a static front page. My main navigation menu has a “HOME” link, and that link used to point to the static front page. It worked.
Now I have no static front page. Settings >> Reading states:
Front page displays Your latest posts.
I edited my nav menu so its “HOME” link now points to URL https://localhost/mydomain/ rather than to a page. It works in the localhost environment, BUT…
QUESTION 1
What will happen to this link when I migrate the site to the online hosting environment? Will it auto-update to the new/correct URL?
QUESTION 2
Is there a BETTER WAY to point the nav menu “HOME” link to the front of this WP site?
Thanks
]]>I read somewhere that to display a graphic-symbol instead text in main navigation menu (for example ‘home-symbol’ instead ‘Home’ text), one can use id of that particular li element and can achieve the result.
So if id is 30 for home link text, then css should be:
nav #menu-item-30 a { display: block; height: 24px; width: 24px; padding-right: 0px; outline: none; text-indent: -9999px; background: url(images/icon-home.png) no-repeat 10px 10px; }
The same thing (id) can also be used to edit an element on a particular page (via page-id).
I want to know if this is correct to do and has no side-issues?
