Hi, I need to transfer the database from MySQL 5.7 to 8 and unfortunately, after import, the Mailpoet plug-in gives an error:

MailPoet Error: Unable to connect to the database (the database is unable to open a file or folder), the connection is likely not configured correctly. Please read our Knowledge Base article for steps how to resolve it.

The linked article doesn’t help – clearing the database of MailPoet tables and restarting the plugin doesn’t change anything either.

Updated MySQL, 500 Internal Server Error

We tried to move our WordPress site from our dev.domain.uk address to just domain.uk. We contacted the upstream DNS and updated the records to point from the old server to the new one, then logged in to the WP Control panel and changed the url from dev.domain.uk to domain.uk. Things started to go downhill from there and we weren’t able to access the vast majority of our content due to ridiculous WAN routing rules.

Other posts on the WP forums indicated you could use PHPMyAdmin to modify the database and change the address, so that was the plan. So I downloaded and extracted PHPMyAdmin with the intention of reverting to dev.domain.uk and login with the details I set up whilst setting up WordPress (Which it turns out are NOT the details stored in the wp-config.php file). PHPMyAdmin then informed me I needed to update to MySQL5.5.0 or higher.

So, I downloaded and installed MySQL 5.5.42, which is apparently the latest version, uninstalled the older version and restarted the server. PHPMyAdmin now says the credentials are incorrect (using both the ones I used at WordPress setup and the ones in wp-config.php) and what’s worse, I’m getting HTTP 500 errors when trying to access the site (from both its IP from another machine and https://localhost/ from the server)

Wipe 5.5.42, revert to 5.1.73 (as 5.1 was the original version on there), remove PHPMyAdmin – no dice. Still getting HTTP 500 errors. I’ve reverted the entire WordPress directory back to its latest backup (which was at 1am this morning, way before any of these changes were made) and yet still I’m getting HTTP 500.

Some Google searching has recommended ‘checking the database is correct’ but from what I can gather WordPress doesn’t actually use a central database (and there isn’t a whole lot of documentation about it, either..) so that hasn’t really helped a great deal.

I’ve re-downloaded wordpress and copied all the files out, then replaced the WP-Content and wp-config.php with files from the backup. Still no cigar.

At a complete loss now. Anybody battled similar situations?

Creating SEO data directly in MySQL

I did this:
Hi I have a directory website with over 25000 records and I wanted to create SEO data automatically for each page. Obviously I’m not going to do it manually. So I did one manually and checked the results.

Seems I need to insert the following SQL.

Obviously I substituted in the relevant details for lines 1 and 3

I expected the plugin to do this: I expected it to create the relevant SEO details for the post and allow me to see them in the posts listing columns, filter them by seo quality etc.

Instead it did this: It updates each post fine when I go into the individual post, however it doesn’t show them as updated in the bulk post listings page. They show as no focus keyword.

Am I missing an update somewhere else in the database or a file?
Does it matter that they don’t show up here and yet have the relevant data against the post?

Any help or suggestions on how to do this gratefully received.

Updating MySQL and can't edit widgets

1) I cannot upgrade to the latest WP because myySQL isn’t the right message. But I have no idea how to upgrade to the latest version. Here’s the message I get: “You cannot update because WordPress 3.4.1 requires MySQL version 5.0 or higher. You are running version 4.1.14.”

2) I suddenly can’t edit any widgets on this same site. When I try clicking on a widget, it bumps the page to the bottom. My mouse will only highlight text, not move anything.

Help!

First I want to say that I am new in wordpress. So , untill now I made My own php solutions, but wordpress semms to be the most complete one and secure. My problem is the next one :

What I am looking for is the page who make the get and post in sql.
I mean that when an user (becouse my page is under individual user and password for each member) push submit button, the page is loking for “send.php” page and it should make an update in sql.
The page “send.php” is my problem.

My hostname is “localhost”, my db name is “minicosm_crow” and my tabelete is “crow_users”. There are saved all users and passwords and I made some coloums with the name “luni”, “marti”…..etc just like de exemple of “send.php”
