I’m really impressed with FF in that I’m sooo close getting a search form working with a view of saved entries. Just one problem…
I have one form that serves as a data entry form. I created a view of the saved entries. I then created a search form to filter the content in the view and placed the search form above the view in FF.
Where I’m running into an issue is that several of the fields I’d like to search on are multi-select dropdown boxes. In the data entry form, these dropdowns can be multi-selectable. If I create Lookup dropdown fields in the search form based on the data entry values, and allow multi-selection in each field, when I search using more than 1 selection on any field, I get no results.
If I only select 1 option in the multi-select dropdown in the search, the results are correct. It’s just selecting more than 1 in the multi-select that shows no search results. I verified the test data should show that some entries should come back in this case.
Is multi-selection in one field considered an ‘AND’ condition on a search in FF?
Is there anything I should check for in my view or search form settings? If I can get this one thing working, I’d be through the moon, but don’t know if it’s a plugin limitation or if I am just not seeing where to allow this in the settings.
Thanks for any thoughts!
]]>Some of my members must select an age range. I’ve created a multiselect field where they can choose:
15 – 25
25 – 35
35 – 45
45 – 55
55 – 65
65+
They can select multiple values.
On the directory pages, I want to sort their profiles in ascending and descending, according to their age range as selected above. This should also include members who have not selected anything in the age range.
Can this be made possible using a Code Snippet? Or is ther perhaps another suggested workaround?
]]>Super Amazing Support. Thank you so much Fahad!
Original post below is resolved!
We were forced to replace Memphis Docs due to security concerns. When searching for a replacement we found that options were limited. I had several questions and Fahad was very responsive with answering them. Then during testing there were issues that arose with the plug-in and Fahad was very helpful and even put out a bug fix or two. Thank you!
Now that we have committed 20+ sites to convert and use WP Docs, upgraded to Pro, we have run into another bug and need a very basic feature request filled. I posted for help and support 3 days ago and no response at all.
What we need is the ability to select multiple files at one time. For moving documents to “manage” how our members access the information. Moving files from one folder to the next is one at a tile or the entire folder and you have to copy/delete in two separate actions. Like ALL basic file systems have, we need to multi-select documents and MOVE them to a new location. I expected it to be in the Pro version and it is not. Very disappointing and super time consuming to do it within the limitations of WP Docs. Even more disappointing that the Author has gone silent after all the time it took to convert to WP Docs.
]]>Currently, the multi-select option is only available for the ‘Device’ category, allowing users to choose multiple options such as Mobile, Tablet, and Desktop. This feature is incredibly useful, and I believe extending similar functionality to other categories would be beneficial.
The two categories that I particularly urge you to prioritize are ‘UserRole’ and ‘RestrictContentPro’.
For ‘UserRole’, there are cases where content needs to be displayed to users with a certain level of access, such as ‘Editor’ and above (i.e., Admin, Editor). However, the current dropdown method only allows for the selection of a single option, which is inconvenient. A multi-select checkbox would resolve this issue by allowing the selection of multiple user roles.
Similarly, for ‘RestrictContentPro’ and other related membership plugins, there are scenarios where content should be visible only to users of certain membership tiers, such as Silver and Gold, in a site with Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers. Again, the current system’s limitation to a single selection is a hindrance. Implementing a multi-select checkbox would greatly ease the setup of dynamic conditions.
Improving these features would simplify the setup of dynamic triggers and enhance the user experience. I earnestly request that you consider these enhancements.
]]>After your support with multi select, I am continuing with the form that I am creating.
I have created some potential answers. I have ordered them (menu “select conten”) as I want that they apprear for the customer (product, process, new, current).
However, the published form does not respect this order and shows: current, new, process, product (alphabetically sorted).
IMPORTANT: I am with working the gutenverse plugin that you provided me yesterday (not with gutenverse form plugin), that solved the problem of not sending emails.
Thanks for your support.
Best regards.
