I tried several times this evening with the latter. Each time, with three different images, I got an error message: “Post-processing of the image likely failed because the server is busy or does not have enough resources. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2500 pixels.”
All were 1414×2000 pixels. All are about 250KB in size. There are larger images already uploaded a couple of months ago with no problem.
I tried on a different site, on a different server – no problem.
I tried on a different different site, on the same server – no problem.
I tried on the problematic site with the browser uploader.. and it worked!
I then tried again with the multi-file uploader.. and it worked!
In that time, the server hasn’t had any updates. The site hasn’t had any updates between the two, but… it now works and it didn’t work about an hour ago.
I’m puzzled.
]]>In the browser “Microsoft Edge”, after selecting the menu of the multi-file uploader of the media library and clicking the “select file” button, there is no response and the media file can not be uploaded. No pop-ups or errors are displayed.
However, the method of uploading files one by one from the browser uploader and the method of dropping files from Windows 10 Explorer will work.
The browser “Internet Explorer” could be uploaded by any method.
]]>Thanks.
]]>This is now happening across all of the wordpress sites that I manage, so I am thinking that it may be a local issue that I am having.
I have tried:
-using Chrome, Safari, FireFox, Opera (with cleared cash and browser history for each)
-updating flash player
-clearing flash player local cache
-uploading images across multiple sites using different hosts
-CHMODS
-increasing php memory
I believe it is an issue with my local machine, though I have lacked the means to test it on another machine…
I am only wondering if somebody else out there has had this same issue…
Here is an image detailing the issue that I am dealing with.
]]>Background:
* A 16 MB file failed to upload to the WordPress Media library using the multi-file Media and browser uploaders despite repeated attempts.
* php.ini settings at my server are appropriate:
– ; Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.
upload_max_filesize = 128M
– memory_limit = 64M
* As a possible work-around, I uploaded the 16 MB file directly to my server’s blog/wp-content/uploads folder using FTP. However, the Media library fails to see the 16 MB file, even though the WordPress Media library CAN see other previously uploaded files that reside beside the 16 MB file on my server.
Question: How can I force the WordPress Media library to recognize files already uploaded to blog/wp-content/uploads on my server?
