I essentially would like to create something with roughly the same functionality and would like to stay minimal on plugins as I can write code myself but have been out of the WordPress ecosystem for a while.
The things I’m keen to include are
Much of this I have an idea how to do but not all so I’d love any advice, tips, direction, resources etc. Again, avoiding plugins and themes as much as possible as I find this creates a lot of bloat.
Any advice or recommendations is very welcome – or just tips on getting started!

]]>We are developing a multi author user based blogging website. We don’t want users to have any access to the backend but need they will need access to the following, role permitting:
1 submit, edit and view posts
2 add media to blog post
3 have access to PublishPress calendar ect
4 create total poll and the likes
Main plugins it needs to be compatible with.
1 PublishPress
2 ultimate member
To start off we need to be able to:
1 change field tiles eg change “create post” to “create article”
2 specify which columns are visible
3 create a “page” for each menu item eg PublishPress or rename menu item titles eg change PublishPress to editor tools
The goal is to provide the users access to these functions / features without them feeling they are leaving the website (ie keeps theme feel and look)
]]>i just need feature like this :
1. Anyone can register to the site and have dedicated panel ( i mean is they are not use wordpress default dashboard.)
2. each member have a profile page with some statistic like a post, comment, viewers, badge etc
3. the last important, each member can submit a post, after they submit the post. post will pending for review by admin.
any plugin/addons have features like that? or it’s just can be done with custom development?
]]>Right now, I am using multisites and each student has their own site. However, I think it would be easier to administer if the site were the same.
]]>This plugin provides both functionalities, and does so in a clean, user-friendly manner. Right on the editing screen, I can choose as many authors as I want, and they all show up in the author box and in the byline. And, once I set up someone (or some organization) as a guest author, I can choose them as well. All authors can have bios, social media links, and so on. And, the author box can be customized easily in the Customizer.
This is one of the best plug-in purchases I have made (and I’ve made a bunch over the years). Truly worth every penny.
]]>First, I saw from another thread that there was some CSS which removed the social buttons from a single post. That worked for me, but I’d like to remove the social icons from my recent posts page as well?
Second, not sure if this is particular to this theme or not. But, in a single post, I can set the featured image so that it is used as a thumbnail for that post. However, it also automatically includes that image at the top of the post; which means it appears twice if that image was in that post (see the URL listed for an example). Any chance of preventing it from being shown at the top of a single post page?
Finally, our site is a multi-author blog. It would be great if it were possible, on the recent posts page, to have which author added the post. Thoughts?
All help is appreciated!
Cheers
Andrew.

He has tried both chrome and edge on his PC, as well as just visiting the site via Safari on his phone. None of this worked. He said he recently moved and this is the first time he tried to access the site since then. Everything works fine on our end and looks great when I use any of those browsers. Could our site have locked out his IP address or something? Sorry if I didn’t do this right – first time posting on the forum. Thanx
