]]>Having Jetpack saved me from the issue of having to recorrect the variety parts of my site, since I was easily able to restore jetpacks connection to my site and restore it back to a working point . It ended up saving me a bunch of time, that otherwise would have been a pain in the behind to do.
I hope this review helps you with your decisions and happy site building!
]]>My understanding of how this should work from here is that I need to:
At that point, the DNS should re-resolve to Opalstack; it should find the chessinstitute.ca domain and site at Opalstack, and connect to the app.
What I’m not entirely clear on is how to ensure that the site itself starts delivering pages like chessinstitute.ca/about and chessinstitute.ca/news instead of cic.shep.ca/about and cic.shep.ca/news, and so on.
Is there an additional step to “re-establish” the domain propagation using the “correct” URL? Is it as simple as just changing the site URL in WordPress’ dashboard / Settings / General, from ‘cic.shep.ca’ to ‘chessinstitute.ca’ or is there something I need to do in wp-config.php or elsewhere?
We’re in the middle of the season where parents sign up for camps, etc., so I’d like this to be as seamless as possible.
]]>Same DNS, no change
Same folder name hence same URL
Same DB user name except for prefix abc_myname to xyz_myname
Except the DB on the old acct is abc_name and the new one will be xyz_name
When I upload the DB to the new server should I change the file name abc_name to match xyz_name or leave it the same?
I have moved sites before but now can’t remember if I did that.
]]>I have a child theme and Elementor Pro installed, as well as the free version of the Advanced Custom Fields Plugin. I have tried the solutions suggested here (by adding them to my child theme’s functions.php), but i can’t get it to work. Any help with this issue is appreciated!
]]>I’d need to hade a date-based range of media to be transferred from site to site, including all media data like titles, descr, alt tags and so on.
Some of these media files are already on the new site, because we use post publishing plugin for ‘post to another website’ purpose. Yet these cloned madia files do not have proper data ane will have to be replaced.
So questioon is:
Has anyone came up with issue like this and what worked best in your case?
Would you
a) grab files + media database entries and go full-raw files+database data move?
b) simply use wp export/import
c) go custom way (what?)
thanks!
