I am working with an individual that has three wordpress.com blogs. We are creating a new WordPress website on her hosting account and would like to combine all three of her current wordpress.com blogs into one blog on her new website. Is this possible? I see how to export and import one blog, I am just not sure if you can use the same process for more than one blog.

How to move WP blog from one server to another?

I need to move a blog I host from one of my servers to a different server in order to rebuild the first server. Both of these servers I own and are hosted in my office. These are not hosted externally meaning, I can physically touch the server and all the files. I am not using CPanel.

The domain name of the blog will not change. The only thing that is changing is the IP address of the new server I am moving the blog to.

Question:
How do I move the blog from one server to another? How do I export the database without CPanel?

I would like to move my current blog to the subfolder /blog instead of the root.
The thing is, I don’t want my current links to be broken when I move the blog to a subfolder. I am using the permalink domain.com/2015/04/sample-post/.
Is there a way to maintain all the permalinks while the blog is no longer in the root?

Imported My Old WP.com blog to WP.org, But Can't See the Imported Posts

I just moved my blog from WordPress.com to www.remarpro.com; and I used this web page as my tutorial.

As far as I can tell, I followed all of the steps exactly as described; and everything seems to have worked fine; except when I go to the new blog site I don’t see the posts from the old blog.

The last thing I did, after importing the XML file to the new blog, was to change the WordPress.com blog to “private”; and now I want to view those old posts in the new www.remarpro.com interface.

I’m sure I’m missing some obvious or simple step; but I can’t seem to figure out what it is.

Hi,

I have a weird situation, I have a client who has an html website with a wordpress blog added in a sub directory. I’m creating a new WordPress site on a new host and I was curious what’s the best way to move all the old blog posts over to the new sites blog section without disrupting the new sites theme/database etc. Hope that makes sense.

I don’t know if this makes a difference, the new site is using a temporary domain which will eventually be changed to the original domain once the new site is completed. I was also curious about if I need to do a 301 re-direct. If I’m eventually changing the new site domain back to the original domain and maintaining the same page titles is it necessary?

I am not sure how to deal with this issue.

I want to start from scratch on my wordpress site. I have had so many issues with plugins and images and such that I need to start some stuff from the ground up.

BUT, I dont want to lose current pages and Blog posts. However, I know If I use the importer, and I dont move it correctly later, I will lose my images in what is current. I learned that the hard way.

So how do I do this?

1) Create a new site in a subfolder.
2) Once I get everthing looking right, I want to import my Pages and my blog posts ONLY.
3) Reinstall plugins and get them all working the way I want
4) move everything back into the root directory with out losing the original database of images, pages and posts.

We have a blog now, and are in the process of updating our blog to a new URL, and new WordPress install. This might not happen for another couple of months though, and we’d like to start using your plugin.

Question: If we install the plugin on the old blog, and configure posts going forward until we want to move to the new blog, can the Rich Snippet data be exported along with the posts, to be imported into the new blog?

Hi. We recently moved our company website from DNN to www.remarpro.com: https://www.calipercorp.com. Our blog was a separate wp.org site at https://calipercompetitiveedge.calipercorp.com. but we have decided to incorporate the blog in our new website rather than have it on a separate domain. In order to keep our current 400 subscribers, via Feeburner, I’ve seen suggestions to change the original feed url to the new feed url. I’ve tried this but I must be doing it incorrectly because it’s not working. I’ve tried a whole bunch of the suggested wp feed url’s but I’m getting this for every one I try:

How can I set it up so that I keep my current subscribers, especially my email subscribers, so that they automatically receive an email with each new blog post on our new website like they used to on the old blog site? Thanks so much! (Sorry, I’m not terribly tech savvy.)
