Only a problem on the custom post type.
To my eyes there doesn’t appear to be a problem. Validating elsewhere shows no errors.
]]>If you exclude a category and there are no other posts created/modified around that time, the plugin creates an empty sitemap-pt-post XML file. Google throws an error of “Missing XML tag – This required tag is missing. Please add it and resubmit.”
If I disable the exclusion and reload the offending sitemap-pt-post XML file, the posts show and, albeit posts I want to exclude, the file is now valid.

]]>Been unable to find an an answer to this even using the help stuff in plugin settings. I appear to have a sitemap.xml page in google analytics but there is one warning and one error pointing to a link that is mysite.com/sitemap-pt-page-2014-12.xml
When I click on I get page saying:
This is a XML Sitemap which is supposed to be processed by search engines which follow the XML Sitemap standard like Ask.com, Bing, Google and Yahoo.
It was generated using the Blogging-Software WordPress and the Google Sitemap Generator Plugin by Arne Brachhold.
You can find more information about XML sitemaps on sitemaps.org and Google’s list of sitemap programs.
But there is no link to a page as there is for all other links in my sitemap like this?
If there is no link to a page but the sitemap generated the sub-sitemap what does that mean exactly?
