I used NexGen Gallery about 10 years ago, and have come back to it to add some galleries to a blog.

Its workflow is really kind of primitive and modal, but the big issue is its (lack of) error handling on uploads. If there’s a problem with a file — none of the files in a batch get uploaded. So really, you need to it one at a time.

And even if it tells you it has uploaded some of the files — it’s not true.

I have had enough problems trying upload images today that I think it’s worth looking for alternatives.

It doesn’t show you anything that you wouldn’t see by just actually, you know, switching your themes. I guess I was expecting something more useful, but this ain’t it.

Also, appears to redirect to the main domain, when the site I’m working on is on a sub domain.

All the real functionality is behind the pay wall. The interface is clunky and inefficient, but it works. Lots of push to upsell. What would get this 5 stars from me?

1. Add Patreon integration.
2. Add TikTok Integration
3. Allow auto-posting for free accounts.

Installed plugin, activated it, went to Settings and selected everyone but Administrator, saved settings, page reloaded with random items deselected. I tested with a user login in a separate browser and the plugin settings failed to hide the Profile menu. I don’t want to have to keep resetting user passwords once I’ve created accounts.

Soooo close.

Lots of features, but don’t assume you can just create galleries from the media you already have online. Crazy oversight.

Have no idea what it does or how it works because SSL certificates are a bit of a mystery to us, but the plugin does do exactly what it says it does, and it was a must-have for our WordPress site in order to get the SSL set up with GoDaddy. ^^ Actually, we think this SSL crap is just Google’s way of getting us all to fork over more money into its every-hungry maw but – whatever. =P It’s way too late to slay the creature now.

In general; it made WP community question whether there’s any rationality behind this Gutenberg push in December? Not only it broke bunch of most used plugins when I tested it on staging website for me, it looks obviously incomplete and feels unnecessary.

It’s not ready, there’s more than enough negative feedback for its current state. It causes class inconsistencies, I don’t see the benefit of using this over what’s been consistently good and reliable for years. This is obviously not about resisting the changes.

I can understand using such an interface if you’re using a mobile device, but pushing something incomplete and somewhat useless makes me question whether if I should continue using WordPress for future projects.

Hopefully there’ll be a better solution than “temporary support till 2022” in near future.

Sad for WP to say the least.

Seems okay, but having all the system fields forced on me, when i don’t need them, or want them is a PITA. These should be allowed to be turned off.
