www.stormymonday.net
Haven’t used the site in awhile, went to use it and got an error. Called Godaddy and they said I had been hacked and had malware. They installed WP 4.7.3 and disabled all plugins. I reactivated all plugins. Then access www.stormymonday.net and all media files are gone. You can see on the latest blog post the picture link is shown, but no pictures is displayed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
]]>1) If you create a page with a custom gallery field you can attach media images to the gallery and select the language (i.e. German). That works.
2) In the next step you want to translate the page and create a new page and set the language (i.e. English).
To get the gallery field shown on the frontend, you’ll have to upload all gallery images again and set the language within the attachment settings.
The problem: On the german and english backend page all images of all translations are visible within the gallery field. In my opinion only the images with the applied page language should be visible.
Turning off the “mediafiles translation” in the Polylang settings is not an option for me, because I want to translate the default wordpress image attachment fields, like title, description etc.
Is there some kind of workaround or bug fix?
]]>Whenever I try to upload some pictures, they are not showing up properly, while giving out some “HTTP error”. The wierdest part is that only two pictures are affected. There were four pics. Two uploaded just fine. Other two were uploaded onto the website, too, but were not showing up for interaction (e.g. they cannot be put into the gallery), and the only way to find them was to use Firezilla to look into the folder where pictures were uploaded into. Other pictures (that were not taken with that camera) were uploading just fine.
The only thing that was different for all four pictures is the programm in which they were patched up. One wasn’t even changed by the prog, second one was changed by the Adobe Photoshop CC, third one – in Photoshop CS6, and the last one – in Digital Photo Professional. Last two are those pics that gave out the error. Perhaps this is the case. Can you confirm or refute my suspisions?
When I upload mediafiles, I would like them to be cut only in sizes that I specified through functions.php, to prevent making files I will never use
By default WordPress also cuts sizes to default values specified in wp-admin Settings->Media, here:
What I do is set up every size to 0.
However it doesn’t completely solve problem – big images will still be cut to 1200×2400 size, sometimes files are also cut to 0x0 0-byte images.
Is there a good stable solution to somehow ‘unregister’ those default image-crop sizes?
