Missing a temporary folder
No change were made the the WordPress code, theme, or plugins prior to this issue occurring.
After doing some research we found two potential fixes for the problem which we have tried but unfortunately did not resolve the problem.
Fix 1: Created a folder named ‘temp’ in the wp-content folder with permissions set to 777, and added the following line to the wp-config.php file:
define(‘WP_TEMP_DIR’, dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/wp-content/temp/’);
Fix 2: Created a folder named ‘temp’ in the directory root with permissions set to 777, added the following line to our php.ini file in the directory root:
upload_tmp_dir= your/path/to/public_html/temp/
We created a subdomain on our server, spun up a fresh install of WordPress using the out of the box theme/plugins, and still proceeded to get the issue when uploading images.
Has anyone else experienced this issue before, have a resolution, or able to suggest what we could try next?
Thanks in advance.
]]>Please help! I’ve just started creating a blog on WP and I did not expect to encounter such issues from the get go. I have read a lot of threads on this error and tried many things and it still doesn’t work, I don’t know what to do anymore!
‘Post-processing of the image failed. If this is a photo or a large image, please scale it down to 2500 pixels and upload it again’
I asked my host to set-up SSL certificate, because it wasn’t set-up correctly, after that I lost the ability to upload images (although there were some instances where something did upload, but mostly not). I don’t know if these two are related though, my host checked the SSL and said everything is in order with that.
This is what i have done so far
– rolling back to other PHP
– rolling back WP version from latest to 5.2
– ‘Disable Big Image threshold’ plugin
– have the Default to GD plugin
– disabling plugins
– Uploading through the Browser Uploader takes me to a ‘This Site Can’t Be reached’ page
– Contacted host (Bluehost), they said it works on their end and they can’t do anything more, I think one of the things they tried was to increase upload size limit. I asked if they can disable ImageMagick, they can’t because I’m no a Shared server, I asked if they can disable modsecurity, they said that if there was an error on that it would be whitelisted by a specialist
– uploaded via phone on my 4G and it worked, Bluehost said that it’s could be a Network Provider issue, where they need to white list a certain IP address because it’s being blocked, I thought really?
– but I did call my network provider, they said they don’t bloack IP addresses and said I should reset the router and leave it off for 65 min to reset IP, done that, didn’t help
– theme (Hello Elementor) is up to date
– cleared browser cache, WP cache
– there are no apostrophes in the files
– tried different size files
Are there other people not being able to fix this? Surely this is quite a big issue and images are the lifeblood of blogging…. Can anyone help to fix this?
Thank you!
]]>Our site has been up for over a year. I recently received an error when trying to upload images to the media app. The error only reads “HTTP error” and nothing else.
I’ve tried deactivating the latest plugin and cleared cache before trying to upload more images. That did not work.
I did try uploading a smaller image (96KB) and it actually did upload, but when I tried a larger image (496KB), it gave me the same HTTP error.
I’ve found websites that inform me of certain methods that I can try like increasing memory and adding code to the .htaccess file, but I wanted to ask here before I moved forward with any changes to the file manager.
Thank you in advance,
BH
]]>today I’ve noticed that the Media Library shows the original picture and two more copy from every picture.
I checked the uploads and phisically I found only the origianl pictures in the folders.
What is the problem? Perhaps database error? or what?

I have tried multiple files and sizes to upload and the same error, Tried multiple php versions and still the same error.
File permissions & ownerships have been checked, still the same issue.
We are using Bluehost VPS server and the error has been since upgrading to VPS,
Their support has looked into this and can’t see what is causing the issue
We have even done a fresh install of WordPress with no plugins installed and the same issue.
Any help you could offer would be great.
Thanks

There was already images on the site, loading properly and operating efficiently up until just an hour or two ago.
I’m usually pretty savvy with wordpress functions and have tried all basic troubleshooting methods. Has anyone else had this issue with 4.2.2 and Karolina Theme. Has anyone else had this issue or similar???

]]>I’m trying to upload images files through the Media Library | Add New (Both the browser and flash)
It keeps failing – with the flash upload I get this message: Unable to create directory /www/getmelearning.com/wp-content/upLoads/2011/02. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
Is anyone able to tell me what to do here? I’m a pretty basic user. Happy to read up if you simply want to point me in the right direction
Thanks
