I have tried several variations of my event’s address but nothing causes the map to show up.

I have all the map APIs set up already.

One “Map Unavailable” out of 20 locations

Hi there

All the other locations that I have on the site are available except for one.

It is a relatively new place (1.5 years).

I have checked it is on Google. I have changed the name to exactly as it is displayed on Google. I have changed the country to reset co-ordinates.

It’s driving me mad and happens frequently, on different locations. What can I do about this? Many thanks

I’m seeing a new problem with “Map unavailable” errors when adding a new location to Events Manager 5.9.6. None of the usual fixes work (tried checking API credentials and temporarily removing restrictions, disabling plugins, installing on a different site, checking for console errors etc).

Locations that were added a few weeks ago continue to display correctly. I think that means the javascript map API credentials must be correct and working. But I can’t add any new locations.

When I check the database I see that the latitude and longitude are not set for the new location, but do exist for the old ones. That suggests a geocoding failure (yet I know geocoding works on this site, in CiviCRM). However, I have manually added the lat and long to the new location using phpMyAdmin and yet I still see “Map unavailable”, which is strange because I can see no other difference between old locations that still work and the new location that doesn’t.

(did testing with all other plugins deactivated and one test with theme set to 2019 and one test with theme set to 2017 – always get ‘Map Unavailable’ for single events and no pins in ‘all evets’ maps)

WP and all plugins current.

Memberstravel.com ‘all events’ and single events pages do not display maps.

Carefully went thru Event Manager Google Maps set-up instructions.
Set up Google Cloud account and furnished valid payment information
Confirmed ownership of site via DNS TXT record and html file.
Issued API key and enabled the following APIs on it:
(note that it acknowledges Javascript API (5th item down) has been hit a few times)

Maps Embed API 0 0 – Details

Tested API independently with Postman… working OK.

Turned all APIs off and back on at Google since this has worked for a previous party here having similar problems.

‘Map Unavailable’ always appears on every single event page. I used the [locations_map] shortcode on the /events/ listings page (links to individual events on that page) and a map does appear, however no events are on the map, but instead displays an area of the Pacific E of Papua New Guinea.

The src on the /events/ page for the map iframe is set to mem/erstravel.com/events/about:blank (no /events/about page exists in the file system for the site).

Actual address data used in the events was obtained from Google maps in the first place, so it should be good.

Any other items I should be checking?

Have been through all of your instructions and documentation, ensured billing is set up, checked I have the correct information entered etc. but cannot get the maps working on any event

Hello there, I’m in development stage of setting up the website where people will need to RSVP for any of the events. I’m using the Event Tickets in conjunction with the Event Calendar plugin. When I set up an event using Tickets plugin, I noticed that the location isn’t displaying the map and it said “Map Unavailable”. When editing the Location page, it said “Location Not Found” under Where section. Am I missing something here? Do I need to install Google Maps or how can this be resolved? Thank you.

Replace ‘Map Unavailable’ with Featured Image?

From time to time, events without a physical location are planned, such as Facebook Live Events. Since the location of the event is online rather that at a physical location, it would be great if there could be a way to display the event’s featured image in place of the ‘Map Unavailable’ text that shows where the Google Map normally would be for a physical location.

How can we achieve something like this?

I know this is a common error. Here’s what I’ve done to troubleshoot:

Everything is up to date.
Disabled all other plugins.
Switched to default 2016 theme.
Followed instructions here and triple-checked. Set API key to None for Restrictions. API key works fine with the theme (Divi) to display maps. Tried creating a new key.

None of that worked. Here’s a staging site where you can see the issue with no other plugins active and the 2016 theme enabled. Please advise. Thanks!

I was wondering, is it possible to completely hide the Map Unavailable notification if there is no location/map? If so where would I do this? Any help would be appreciated.
