Add note to Manual Backup possible?

Is it possible to add a written note when making a manual backup? This would be helpful to take note of why the manual backup was made. For example, “backup before installing xyz plugin.”

Manual Backup Complete but no backup exists

My scheduled backups are working as expected, the backup runs and saves to my GDrive. But when I do a manual backup, I get the message “The backup has finished running” but it does not show up in my Existing Backups or on my GDrive. Here’s the log output:

Manual backup – DB file empty

Hi everybody
since the fire occuring in OVH, we have decided, in addition to automatic backups, to perform recurrent manual backups on one externatl storage device.

If everything was running smoothly at the beggining, for about 5 weeks, the database folder (DB) is empty (2Ko), althought it was about 500Mo ain the former backups. There is no apparent issue of concern with the other folders (extensions, themesn upload and miscellaneous)
We are wondering why the DB file is empty in the recent manual backups, and fearing a troubleshoot.
Can you help me, please? Thanks a lot

backup Waiting till scheduled time

Hey! I’ve been using Updraft plus for a long time as backup plugin and i’ve never faced any severe issues but for the past few weeks i’m not able to create any new backups. Whenever i try to create a manual backup, it shows “Waiting until Scheduled time to retry because of errors“. My website is an amateur one and we are still trying out different themes to get a better look. We don’t want to lose our site’s latest content incase we run into trouble this time. Please help us with this.

Health check not consistent with WP installation guidelines

Health check cites a critical issue because I update my WP manually. The WP installation guidelines say that I need backup manually update and check that the update completes ok. I accepted when I installed that I could not change to automatic update. Yet Health Check calls this a critical error. Since there is only a single line of code to delineate manual vs automatic, why not put a toggle with an If then Else, to allow either mode. But please, take that critical error out of Health Check and make it a comment reminding the webmaster to update.

Health check also cites an error that I have to update my PHP to the current version 7.1. Ahem, guys, it is already at the current version……. please check this error and get that message sorted.

Finally, Health check tells me that a program is missing. That program is The optional module, imagick, which is not installed, or has been disabled. Guys, I disabled imagick because I need fast image loading from small jpg files. The installation notes cautioned that installing this high definition image rendering, places a performance load on loading images. My instructions are to minimise overhead and maintain speed and formatting.

Health Check should not be taking its own path when it comes to messages. It needs to be consistent and harmonized with the overall guidelines for installation of WP. I really think that these 3 messages from health check should be removed. I have no intention of being influenced by a plug in that is not aligned with the WP design recommendations

Automated backup works, manual backup does not.

Automated backups work fine, however when I click the “Run now” button, it starts and stops within about 30seconds with no backup files being created.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Backup says “finished” but it is still running

When starting a rather large Backup (>600MB) manually, the backup says after a while “finished in 0 seconds” and the progress bars are full. But when switching to “backups” to download the file there are 2 files, and none of them is the size of a full backup. And at least one of them is still growing when reloading.
When clicking back to “backup-orders” (auftr?ge mein ich, hab die deutsche version) the system shows again a running backup. An quite often the same behaviour starts again: Backup in progress is shown (doesn’t start at the beginning, but shows a realistic progress), then says again “finished in 0 seconds”….

When I just wait, it will finish in the usual time and has no error-messages or warnings in the log. This error is in the product at least for 6 Months and I can watch it on several sites, usually with bigger backups. Seems to happen wehen the logs says “Array……”

Please fix that irritating behaviour. Thanks for the good work!

Can’t create first time manual backup of wp-config.php

Hey!

I just installed the plugin, and as suggested in the Settings, I manually backed up my database and .htaccess just fine. But when I tried to back my wp-config.php file, it sends me to a “Page Not Found” page.

My WordPress is a multisite installation, if that helps.

Can I fix this?

Backups Http site not Https site

I recently updated my site to Https to make it more secure. I deleted my old api project and created a new one with the same name and updated the plugin as well. However, when automatic backups run it still copies the http site. But when I run manual backups it does the https version.

Any ideas? It should be noted that my past project is still waiting for approval before it is deleted. I use google drive for this as well.
