I’ve spent a couple of hours trying to find a solution in different foruns/articles. As instructed elsewhere I saved Permalinks (tons of times by now) to regenerate .htaccess, cleared cache, disabled all plugins, have twenty twenty-four enabled. Nothing works. Site Health Status displays the following message:
The REST API encountered an unexpected result
The REST API is one way that WordPress and other applications communicate with the server. For example, the block editor screen relies on the REST API to display and save your posts and pages.
When testing the REST API, an unexpected result was returned:
REST API Endpoint: https://localhost:8888/wordpress/wp-json/wp/v2/types/post?context=edit
REST API Response: (404) Not Found
How can I fix this?
Thanks!

Podes me ajudar?
Obrigado,
Inventory had been working fine for a year, and I can’t pinpoint a specific change that may have triggered this issue.
What I have done for troubleshooting:
I ran out of ideas. There is a weird statement among the garbage that seems to refer to a file. That particular filename is not mentioned within the database, and it seems like the file never existed as I can’t find it in any backup either.
No portion of the text being shown is in the database. I checked it against a full dump. This is what leads me to think that there may be some sort of cache involved. But I have deleted and disabled every cache. Is there a database cache that could be causing this, I wonder?
Thanks!
]]>Explaining how I got this errors and problems:
So I was trying to make an extra website on here and got myself into many errors when I duplicated the WordPress file on ht docs. And then when I tried using Mamp I couldn’t use it.I tried all day yesterday to fix the problems. Not sure if its a big problem but I switch the original files and used the WordPress copy now as I was messing with the “Original WordPress file”.While using the original file after I messed around with them I got to the last “Pic #5” and my “website” look all scrambled and weird. As you can the login looks very different. So currently I’m using the current “WordPress copy file” and Im in error “Pic #1”.But if I change the port number to 8887 instead I get the Error “Pic #2”.Add on:How I got to step 4 was change the description on .htaccess in WordPress.
So if anybody can help me I would truly be grateful.Because I have spent all day yesterday and hours trying to fix the problem.Im thinking about just get new www.remarpro.com account and reinstall everything.
Thank you very much for your assistance.
]]>`Step 4: Downloading and Installing WordPress
Now it’s time to download WordPress. Once you’ve downloaded and unzipped the WordPress download, open up the “wordpress” folder. Click and drag all of the files from the wordpress folder to your MAMP document root (I use /Users/USERNAME/Sites/wordpress/).
Others with the default MAMP install should rename and drag the folder to the htdocs folder, located under /Applications/MAMP. Then in the browser, go to localhost:port/folder_renamed to run the install. For example, in the default MAMP install, if the folder was renamed wordpresstest, go to localhost:8888/wordpresstest.
First it says to drag the downloaded WordPress files to the wordpress folder in Sites. Then “Others????” are supposed to rename and drag something to htdocs (in the MAMP folder). Nothing in the examples was named wordpresstest. So I don’t know what files go where in this setup.
Can someone clarify?
Thanks- Dave
