I’m trying to build a major CrossFit website for people with some sort of disability in their mobilty.

I want to have several locations in cities all over the Netherlands.

Example: Eindhoven

But i want to have eindhoven.pkclub.nl

What are settings to accomplish this?

This is a strong advice to all users of Elementor: turn off auto-updates (introduced in WP 5.5) for this plug-in immediately! It’s not the first time their major update causes problems, and this latest 3.0 version is no exception.

I have lots of styling issues on my site, texts are missing and some elements are simply completely gone. Via their advice ‘refresh CSS’ (or something like that) I could restore a small display issue, but many other things were still broken. And yes, my other installs (WP, theme, plug-ins) are all up-to-date.

Luckily I tested this new version first on a local install. But! I wonder what the testing procedure is like? It feels like it’s completely absent, or at the very least not thorough. Shame on you, Elementor developers, you’re destroying the reputation you built.

A new member overall. I am tasked to redo our website but wanted to explore how — if at all possible — we can import our list of schools and programs in WP.
I was looking into the Directorist but would like to have additional opinions/inputs/suggestions in regards to the myriad choices available out there.

When a client discovered that Easy Updates Manager had not been working on his sites for several months, I went looking for an alternative, and was delighted to find aptly-named Companion Auto Update. The settings are much easier to understand, and it works beautifully. It also checks for available updates more often, and adds a list of recent updates to your Dashboard that you see when you log in.

There are a couple of things that could be improved. Major WordPress core updates run automatically by default, which I think is unwise. Site managers really should be backing up before major updates, and checking the site afterwards for any problems. This should be off by default.

Also, the settings to turn off updates for specific plugins are for a little hard to find. “Filter Plugins” is a subtab of the Advanced Options tab, which opens by default to the other subtab (Scheduling). I don’t see why these couldn’t each be top level tabs, and change “Filter” to something more descriptive, like “Deselect.”

Note that you can’t turn off updates for selected themes – theme updates are either all or nothing. Not a problem for most people, just mentioning it.

Overall, this is a user-friendly plugin that just works, and has really cut down the amount of time I spend maintaining my own sites. Thanks for building it!

Latest Version Breaking Entire Dashboard

My entire Dashboard becomes inaccessible as I update to 0.9.97.19. I turned on WP Debug, and found this issue –

‘Warning: session_start(): Cannot start session when headers already sent in /~/wp-content/plugins/accelerated-mobile-pages/includes/redirect.php on line 210’

I disabled the plugin, all back to normal. Now I am rolling back to the older version before you push a fix.

Important for upgrading from version 1+ to 2.0 or above

If you’re upgrading from any version previously published before 2.0 to the latest then please do the following steps to avoid any break:

Purge any caching plugin installed
Refresh the page
Clear browser cache if it doesn’t work as expected

Open a support ticket in case you still face any trouble.

Whole of site security compromised by update

The latest update of Groups caused my entire multi-site to be made open to the public.

I have have been using group membership and access restriction (capabilities) to control page access. The upgrade disabled this and all pages and menus on the sites were then visible. I have 20 sites and was able to manually set legacy mode to resolve this.

I can see the improved read access is a step forward but you have caused my users considerable stress and damaged my reputation.
