So, I’m creating a form with tags e.g. mail tag as “shooting-email” for testing only. The new tag doesn’t show on the mail template screen. When I edit/add the email tag to the mail form instead of using “your-email”, it then has an exclamation mark with a linked error warning to “Invalid mailbox syntax is used in the Reply-To field.” Have trippled checked that both the form and mail tag is exactly the same. When trying to save – it exits without error, then returns to the sidebar menu of “Posts”.
This has only happened since updating to WordPress 6.0. I have deactivated all other plugins and left only the CF7 Smart Grid Design Extension plugin active.
Have I missed something basic or has the update to WP 6.0 caused an undocumented feature? Have created and customised forms in the past with no issues. Is there something else needed to have the form tags update on the mail section?
I’ve been following your YouTube links and they make sense :), but the applications are acting differently
Hope there’s a simple solve
Cheers
Jocelyn
My forms are working properly, but there is a field I cannot get mapped into upicrm that I need. On the Mail tab in CF7 there is a mail tag called vehicle_details. It is not being submitted to upiCRM when a form is submitted. Is there a way to pass that to upicrm? The user doesn’t fill out this field, it is passed from the page somehow.
Thanks,
Rob
I have set up a number of Yes/No toggles in a form but when I put the mail tag in the email message, it sends the shortcode; not the Yes or No answer.
Can you please tell me how I can get this to work?
Thank you!

CF7 have a list of special mail tags which you can use in emails which are listed here https://contactform7.com/special-mail-tags
However, when I try to use this plugin and try and map them with my post, they are not listed presumably because they are not actual form fields.
Is there a way to map the special mail tags to a post? I presume I would have to use a filter or would I have to find a way to get the user information onto the form in the first place before it could then be mapped?
Thanks!
I use CF7 with “Images Optimize and Upload CF7” and “Send PDF for Contact Form 7”.
Send PDF uses mail-tags to display form-tags.
When i upload several images with Optimize and Upload, a little image with a red cross appear.
I use
.
How can i display all uploaded files?
Thanx!
Thank you for such an amazing work on this plugin!
I have a question about mail tags for post image drop-down menu field.
I have created a multi-step Contact Form 7 using a plugin.
This way contact form is split into multiple pages with the email being sent on the last step that has mail tags from all previous steps.
On this page: https://demo.lavinaweb.com/step-3/ (form starts on https://demo.lavinaweb.com/)
I have this field that has its value set to ‘slug’ (I need it this way, cause it used in a script):
[post_image_select* post_image_select-728 posts-number:-1 image-size:thumbnail id:changeImage publish include_blank post-type:project tax-relation:OR value-field:slug orderby:title order:DESC “%title%”]
In the final email, I include [post_image_select-728] mail tag and it sends out just this slug. I need it to have the value set to slug, but I would also like to include post title in the final email.
How can I also add post title value to the mail tag?
Thanks!
I’m fairly new to WordPress and finding my way as I go along so please excuse me for being a little naive.
I have a purchased theme installed and it included the contact form 7 plugin. I set this up correctly and tested the emails and everything worked fine. I have the latest version installed. I have been away and now on my return I have been told there is an error. Upon looking at the form I have noticed that 3 of the mail-tags do not appear in the Mail tab.
Could someone tell me how do I add the mail-tags to the Mail Tab so it will work again.
When I go to my website page that is meant to display the form, 3 of the boxes are missing and just shows the code from the Form Tab.
I hope I’ve explained this correctly and it would be very much appreciated if someone could help me please.
Many thanks
Allan
Could you make it possible to use the special mail tags as default values?
