Backing up (preserving/cloning) a WP site using REST-API

The situation is that a soon-to-expire site where the owner passed away needs to be backed up, no-one currently takes care of the site.

Getting data through the REST-API is the only way to access the content (except from viewing it the normal way). All users and extra admins (possibly even the only admin) have been deleted.

Does Duplicator support this kind of cloning, or is there any other plugin (or script) I can run on a destination host to rebuild the wordpress database with the content of that site ?

I will not reveal which site it is, because there might be a bandwidth quota or other unknown limits there, so it might get shut down because of too much use.

Unable to login as Admin

Newbie here. About a month ago I developed my first site using theme Twenty-Fifteen and established two roles: Admin and Editor. I successfully worked as Editor for the next day or two and could see both roles identified in Dashboard. Unfortunately, my work was interrupted when I was hospitalized for a lengthy period of time and I am now trying to pick up where I left off. Except…..now I am only able to login as Editor. My Admin login (as recorded in both my handwritten notes and my “secure” password app) no longer works and I have no way (that I know of) to fix it.

I have all site content offline and could start from scratch, but wonder if there is something I am not remembering or exploring. Can anyone recommend a path to a quick solution?

I am using WP 4.9.5 on OS X Sierra 10.12.6. Also, I have a Time Machine backup available, but cannot really load it as there are other work iterations that I cannot give up.

Locked out of admin after deleting subdomain

Hello,
I really need help and can’t find my problem on the forums. I got locked out of my admin account by trying to move my WP from a subdirectory to a domain. BUT! My admin was also in the sub-directory. I thought that I would still be able to log in by typing in the link but keep getting a 404 error mesage refusing permission.
This is what happened?:
My old log-in was in
mysite.com/wp/wp-admin (instead of mysite.com/wp-admin)

I found a tutorial on how to move files and a step was

1 – Go to Settings > General and remove the subdirectory from the URL for both the WordPress Address and Site Address. Be sure to remove the trailing / . Both addresses should simply end with .com or .org or whatever the domain type is. Click Save Changes.

Well the moment I did that I lost access to everything. I need to put that /wp/ subdirectory back in so I can fix things but have no way to do it.
I have access to the server end but am not tech savvy enough to fix it from there.
I do have all log in info, just need access.

Plug-in crash causes admin trouble

Hi!
I added “head and footer” plugin. Pasted my google-analytics tracking code in the “head” and than I lost access to my admin-login page. The problem is caused because I had already installed the Duracell google tag manager plug-in. Seems to me they crash against eachother. And I should have been smart enough not to install both. But unfortunately I was not – and now my adminpage is kind of lost/and I cannot log in to i anylonger.

Is there a way to remove the “head and footer” plugin – or disable it. I have searched the forum for help – but it seems difficult when I cannot anylonger login to my blog.
This is the message I get when I try to login:

Not experienced enough to follow the suggested fixes on losing theme and admin

I fooled with redirecting my url and must have put in the wrong thing. Now my theme is gone and can’t access Admin.

I have looked at the forums on how to fix, but don’t understand the language enough to fix it myself. Where do I go for help from here?

deleted main admin

I accidentally deleted my main admin that comes with the username of admin. I need help on how to create a new admin with the exact same powers. I have another admin thats a level 10 but there are a few options that this admin cannot do that the my original main admin could. How can i fix this? Please reply, i have noticed that the support for wordpress sites is really low and hope to get help ASAP!

I updated this plugin and it blocked all my users. I had to do an emergency password recover to get my site back. I thought I had been hacked. This plugin has been great until then. Gave me a big scare and I traced the problem to this plugin.

Multisite administrator changed after version upgrade

WordPress was working fine until one of my help decided to upgrade one of my wp multisite installs from the softaculous control panel.
Back from vacation I came back and thought I would check plug ins that needed to be installed. What I found is I have no access to the network admin portion of the install. Another blog in the multiuser setup is now the administrator yet has no access to any of the network functions.

I have just started a new job and want to take over the blog hosted on wordpress but no one knows who the admin for the blog is. I have a login but it doesn’t have admin rights. The login is ‘admin’ but I dont know what the admin email or password? or who owns it!?

What can I do?
