Are there specific database settings via PHP My Admin that need to be updated once I manually move the staging site to the “live” version?
Here are the steps I was going to take…
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much
]]>We use Beaver Builder, and while Beaver Builder isn’t specifically mentioned as a compatible page builder, WooFunnels has been compatible with no issues. That’s a major bonus because we didn’t have to use the WP block editor or install a separate page builder to use WooFunnels.
Being elaborate isn’t always preferred, because it usually means there’s a learning curve; which means if you’re in a hurry to develop something you’re in trouble. And for me there is a learning curve with this plugin. Took a while just to wrap my head around the concepts and navigate the backend. Even when I was fairly comfortable and had a funnel built to offer a 1-click upsell and show a custom checkout page based on the product being purchased, I was still finding more settings that I hadn’t seen before. On top of that, there are parameters and other functionality that can be found in the documentation if you know what to look for. If you’ve used a funnel-building system before, it may be more intuitive for you.
I’ve been working on setting up our first funnel on our staging site for two weeks, off-and-on. Luckily I had the time for this. Even with the fast support response times (less than 24 hours on weekdays, and even sometimes on weekends, Wow!), it’s definitely not something I could have done in 1 day for my first funnel. With one under my belt, I could probably build one in 4-6 hours, which includes configuring the funnel and designing the pages for it. But for your first funnel, you need 2-4 days from install to successful testing.
USE A STAGING SITE
Side note, I would not attempt implementing a plugin this elaborate on a live site without first getting familiar with it, testing, and having everything sorted on staging. There are settings and components that can affect how WooCommerce or other plugins work which you may not realize until it’s too late and you have a mess to clean up. Plus you can freely invite the support team to access your WP admin and do stuff without downtime.
SUPPORT
It’s uncommon to have such prompt and hands-on support. And these guys are knowledgeable far-beyond their own plugin. They are true WP and WooCommerce masters.
Sincere thank you for the exceptional support!
]]>I’m having issues with the plugin on Safari mobile. The plugin works great on my staging site but it doesn’t work on the live site. (remove “staging3.” from link) Can someone please assist. I’d hate to have to go with a different plugin after having spent so much time translating the entire site.
]]>We’re working on choosing a new theme. My plan is to use either the Block Builder so that or Catch FSE theme so that I can make it exactly what we want rather than trying to shoehorn our site into a pre-made theme.
Neither of these allow for live preview, obviously, but I am hesitant to activate them before they’ve been built since I don’t want to disrupt our website as it currently is. We’ll also need our board to approve it before publication.
This leads me to the actual question: if I activate a new theme, does it automatically change my live website to that theme and I just hope for the best? Or does my website stay with its currently theme and layout until I hit publish? Or, do I have to build a “test website” with the new theme and then, when I have it how I want it, transfer it over to my live site?
]]>I’m trying to create a staging site for my live site. After following the instructions closely, everything works until it comes time to login into the WordPress Admin to remove all installation files and finalize the install process.
When I click the ‘Admin Login’ button, I’m taken to the live site’s login page, where I’m already logged in as my main username, whereas I had chosen a new admin username for the staging site.
I was expecting to be taken to https://mysite.com/stage/my-login.
Instead, I’m taken to https://mysite.com/my-login.
Where did I go wrong? Or am I misunderstanding something?
]]>I am building my first WordPress site. Right now, the content is showing live on the site while I edit it. I don’t want anyone to see it while I am working on it.
How do I hide everything and just be able to preview it on my Dashboard?
Thanks!
]]>I’m creating a new website to my live site koziishop.com on a localhost at Mac using Mamp, and I purchased one month of server added to my shared plan on hostgator in order to teste everything before changing to my official website.
The question is: I have the history of all my sales on my live site using wordpress woocommerce and I’d like to know if I can restore this history when I upload the new site, in order not to lose this history of purchase and analytics data.
I created new databases on localhost, so I’m not using a mirror from the live site, as the live site presents some important database errors, it was easier to create a new one then correcting the previous…`
