Datas of database not showing up in the admin panel

I just shifted one live website to the local for a backup because I am going to upload the new site in the domain. But in the localhost none of the datas of database is showing up. While shifting the website from live to local, I created a new database import the datas from live database to the local. I have changed the DB_NAME, DB_PASSWORD, and DB_USER in the config.php file but the admin panel is not showing any of the posts or pages. Even they are not being displayed on the front-end. Have I missed something to do?

Attempting to take my local wp site to godaddy host. not sure what i did wrong but no matter what i did to trouble i was unable to get my site up. i edited my wp_config to the new databases username and password, i ran a find and replace because my wp files still had the local url. Long storuy short i have ran myself in circles and i am trying to start over. but since changing the url from local to my domain name i cannot get back to my site.

Ive started deleting my local database and creating a new one.
Where did i go wrong and how do i get back to my site?

Multisite issue: UM doesn’t work on subsites when migrated to live server

Hi,
I’m having this problem with Ultimate Member: it doesn’t work on subsites when I move WordPress from localhost to live server. Could you help me to understand what’s wrong, please?

I developed a sub-directory based multisite network in localhost. It comprises the main website (www.site.com) and a subsite (www.site.com/subsite). Users can register on each website and accounts are synchronized throug the network with the plugin Multisite User Management.
Everything works fine in localhost, but when the multisite resides in the live server, Ultimate Member stops working in the subsite:
– Users profile and cover images disappear;
– Users can’t edit their profile in the subsite;
– Users can’t register in the subsite;
– In the subsite backend, the list of users shows all the informations (included the membership role) but not the avatars.
In the main website, everything works without problems, instead.

I tried deactivating all the other plugins but the problem persists. WordPress and all the plugins are up to date.

Is this problem already known? Could you help me to understand what could be the reason, and how to solve the problem?

I have tried by deleting htaccess file but it was not solve.I cant even acces wp-admin area

Hi Alex,

Quiz tool light is not working on live server. It was working on localhost but after uploading to live server its not working. Later I removed that plugin and added once again. I can see Quiz tool light option on the dashboard but if I add new pot is not showing anywhere. Please help me to rectify this issues ASAP.

Configuration and security measurements on live server

Hello there,
I have purchase a WordPress theme and now I need to install it on live server. My website is a micro-jobs website. As mentioned in the WordPress forum that the recommended hosting is “BlueHost”. The questions are:

1- Is basic hosting plan from “BlueHost” enough for my website?
2- After uploading my website files into the server. What are the steps that I should take (one bye one please) to configure my installed WordPress theme to insure security for both:
A- My WordPress theme configuration files as for the db and php and other files
B- For the congratulations to be done on the server like changing the chmod for the files and folders.

I know my question is too much as a request but please give an answer

migrate local WP site to new server, but want to test online first

I think I have all the steps down to move my local WP to a live server. This would work fine, if I already had the domain name pointing to the new hosting location.

Currently the domain name is pointing to another hosting location. I am creating a new design for my client’s website, and putting it up on a new hosting company (which can run WP).

So, I will want to migrate from my local development on my PC to the hosting package first, and make sure all is good on the site, BEFORE I change the domain’s name-servers to point to the new hosting site.

This means I have to use the temp URLs provided by the hosting company to view the site online.

So does that mean that I basically have to ‘migrate’ twice? Once to upload all the files, and change all URLs in the DB to the temp URL. Then after I verify that WP is working correctly, and the site looks good – I will have to again go in and change the DB’s URLS to the real domain name?

I am sure lots of people have to do this all the time, but I can’t seem to find any actual step by step instructions on how to go from local to the stage url, and then from stage url to the live url.

Any help / direction would be appreciated.

Problems uploading WordPress to live site

I built a localhost WordPress site and when I upload it to the live server. It keeps all of my plugins, but none of my images, products, pages, menus or theme layout/colors.

I downloaded the sql file through phpMyadmin
changed all of the “localhost/wp” within files to the correct url
uploaded the sql using live servers phpMyadmin
used ftp client to upload all of my files within the local WordPress
changed the usermame, password and host info within the config file
changed permalinks to match
