Can’t say enough good things. I am setting up my new site to automatically create short links at the top of each post and page. I am using my custom short domain to provide links to my primary site, which URL Shortify handles like a champ. You get reports on the links so you can know what is trending on your site in order to tailor your content accordingly. It has been invaluable in guaranteeing that when my site is live, my users can share links quickly and without clutter. I’m also going to implement the feature of allowing my users to create their own short links using my custom short domain with URL Shortify’s built-in feature that makes it as simple as checking one checkbox and then adding the shortcode to a form. And MOST importantly what makes URL Shortify priceless is the technical support team backing it. They are extremely quick to respond and very friendly. Also, upgrade to PRO, you absolutely will not regret it!

I like this plug-in. The features are the same as the very old plug-in system I was using. I’m not concerned about analytics but I get a kick out of seeing how many people come to read my little stories.

URL Shortener for Share Link?

It would be awesome if there was an integration with a URL Shortening tool (or if this was built in) for the share link. It would be a lot nicer for users to be able to share to social media without having their full unique referral ID in the URL. If we could shorten these share links, so that they redirect to the page, that would be great. It could also allow for an opportunity to track clicks on the share links, which would be nice for analytics.

Twitter links not shortening even though Bitly is enabled

Bitly link shortening is not working. I have my Bitly login and API code entered on the AddThis site, and I have “Bitly URL Shortening for Twitter” enabled in the plugin’s Advanced Settings on the WordPress site. Any idea why the links won’t shorten or what I need to do?

I see it’s been 2+ years since this plugin has been updated, and it’s not tested with the latest version of WP. Also, I see most of the support questions are closed to new replies.

Are there any plans to at least test it?

I have yet to find another plugin that does link shortening and tracking as well as this one, at least not in the www.remarpro.com plugin repository, and I would hate to see this one get hacked.

(feature request) Way to change/update YouRL shortlinks within wordpress wanted

I recently updated some of my links to give them custom names, and also moved my server from testing to production– getting rid of the old “test” subdomain.

Is it possible to make a batch process that would go through and check for updated shortlinks in the YouRLs database and change them in wordpress? And also maybe adding a similar function in the meta box for individual posts?

For example let’s say I have a post with the URL “example.com/12/18/my-post” and wp_shortlink fired and YouRLs returned the link “exam.pl/12”. I want to change it 3 days later to “exam.pl/mypost” because its easy to remember, so I do it within the YouRLs admin panel, However the post will not get the updated shortlink, and I can’t manually change it without doing some SQL diving.

Also is it possible to change the shortlinking action to use the regular wordpress URL format even though we’re using “pretty URLs”? (using “example.com/?p=123” as the link passed to YouRLs to shorten as opposed to “example.com/12/16/my-post”)
