just started with wordpress, after some analysis about the most suitable way to create a photography portfolio.
I found a theme that suits very well and created some galleries.
My question is, in order to avoid to load the wordpress server with tons of images, is it possible to create galleries, simply using links?
i mean, when the post is visualized, images are loaded in realtime, and not retrieved from the wordpress storage. This is because i would like to store all photos on a cloud service, like GCP, I am using also as backup.

]]>I would like to link different pictures to different pages on my site. I use the slideshow as a header, so I deactivated the lightbox effect.
For that I don’t want to use effects like lightbox because I do not want the images to pop-up when clicking on them. They should only lead to a page on my website.
Is there a solution to link the images without them popping up, or changing to the next image?

When I share the page links of the recipes onto my facebook page, it does not use the correct image. It uses a section of the header image for the main site. I need it to share the featured image of each post. How can I change this?

So what I’m trying to do is have the pictures in my post excerpts link to the full posts. I know that I can go in and edit the pictures “Link To” so it links to a custom URL, but I don’t want the picture to ALWAYS link to the post. I also don’t want to have to go back through and edit every single post.
So essentially – I want the pictures to link to the post when viewing the excerpt, but once you’re viewing the post, I don’t want the picture to link to anything.
Is there a plugin that can help me do this, or a bit of code I can add to help me out?
