So When you open the website, you can see a Language Selector Dropdown Menu placed in the topbar.
Recently I want to change the theme&design of the site, but I couldn’t figure out how to build a custom language dropdown menu like the that’s on the site.
Of course I can open on Chrome and copy the code but is there a plugin which can create such menu and accepts custom links without subscription?
I don’t want to pay annually for a translation plug-in. We are already paying for some kind of AI service and can access translation services.
So is there an easy way to do this?
I have managed deploy Translatepress so that it works for 95% of the site (translating from the starting language being Swedish to the second language being English). However, I do have the following remaining issues:
1. When I switch to English using the language selection on the landing page everything works fine and the translated version appears. However, if i klick the menu I am constantly re-directed to the top of the page and not to the relevant section (it does not scroll down as on the Swedish page). It appears as if the url in the enligsh version does not hold the same CSS-id information as in the Swedish original. For example, if we look at the url of the menu for one of the items in the menu, “Team” (English) and “Medarbetare” (Swedish), the url is as follows:
English: https://wendevel.se/en/
Swedish: https://wendevel.se/#Medarbetare
I assume that for the internal linking to the right section to work the English version should be something like https://wendevel.se/en/#Medarbetare. So from what I can understand, the “en/” is missing.
Also, perhaps it is worth mentioning that when I set “force language in custom links” to “no”, then the linking works but I am brought to the Swedish version.
How can I correct this using the free version?
2. If I use the language selection to set to English and then use the menu to go to one of the pages “terms and conditions” or “privacy policy” then I will be directed to the Swedish version of these pages, that is “allm?nna villkor” or “personuppgiftspolicy”. I woudl like it to maintain the language selection also when moving from the landing page to another page of the site.
How is this adjusted?
3. Finally, and I am not sure that this problem relates to translatepress but never the less, when in the Swedish version and clicking the menu (i.e. the language version where the liking to different portions of the landing page works) there seems to be a problem with the menu choice “Omr?den”. When clicking this item in the menu there is no floating scroll effect down to the right part of the landing page (as is the case with the other options in the menu) but instead the page reloads and when reloaded the section “omr?den” is displayed. So the right content is displayed but it rather “jumps” than floats there.
Any thoughts on that?
If you have files or strings I can translate them for you and you can add my native language into this list of languages
Or if you have any suggestion please let me know how to do it
Thank you
Is it possible to translate a review that’s been written in English, into another language like for example Norwegian? I have two versions of my site, and it would be great if the reviews could reflect the site’s language.
And keep up the good work, this plugin’s great!
]]>for my website I use the theme “lima” and I have installed the polylang plugin two days ago.
After creating two language sections and creating translated versions of a few sites, the plugin icons to select the languages still do not appear on the site.
After using this plugin, the main menue (located at the left) disappeared. Meanwhile I’ve fixed this problem by recreating it with the “customer”. Was that right? And how can I activate the language selection?
Thank you and kind regards
]]>I’m very newbie in web front development especially in wordpress. I was working on a simple web application using this plugin (WP Multilang). I have installed the plugin and defined three different languages. In my opinion this plugin very user friendly easy to develop multi language pages with this. The problem is with the language selection. If I try to select any language I get 404 error. The links doesn’t work for the actual selected language pages for example the “https://lillaapartman.com/about” is working but the “https://lillaapartman.com/en/about” is not. I have checked the permalinks in pages view in administration page and these seem to be correctly.
What would be the problem?
Thank you for your help in advance!
Best Regards,
mrgzsolt
