I’m reaching out regarding an issue I’ve been experiencing with the Polylang plugin on my WordPress site, which is built with the Thrive Theme. Previously, the language on my site would automatically switch based on the user’s browser language preference. However, recently, this functionality seems to have stopped working, and visitors are no longer redirected to the correct language version of the homepage.

Here are some details about my setup:

Permalinks Settings:
Selected Setting 2 (https://la-casetta-marche.com/en/my-post/), Hide URL Information for default Language, remove /language/ from permalinks.

Static Front Page: Yes, I’m using a static front page.
Polylang Settings: Language Detection activated, No Synchronization

What I’ve Tried: I’ve experimented with various settings in polylang, including toggling the automatic language detection feature on and off, but without success. There is no kind of cache activated.
Conflicts: There doesn’t seem to be any conflict with other themes or plugins, as the issue persists even with all other plugins deactivated.

I’m hoping to get some assistance in resolving this issue. If anyone has experienced a similar problem or has any insights into what might be causing this issue, I would greatly appreciate your help.

I created various subfolders of my main website, each subfolder depicts a language code. e.g., www.abc.com/it/ for italian,www.abc.com/es/ for spanish and so on.

I have created these websites separately with different WordPress installations but all are on the same server.

Language switcher menu has already been added on the websites. But I want the websites to have auto-redirection to the language specific website based on the language of the browser.

I know this can be done easily using some multilingual plugins (like WPML plugin) but please note that I have not created these multilingual websites using any plugin. These websites are different subfolders on the server. Also, I have not created a multisite network.

Considering all of the above information, please let me know what would be the best way to achieve auto-redirection based on the browser language.
Is there a specific plugin that can help in this? Or, should I modify the .htaccess file? If yes, what code should be added to .htaccess file?

I want to know if is possible for the plugin detect the browser language only based on the first letters like pt_PT, pt_BR, en_ES, en_UK etc..

Some countries for me are redundant because i want only the language detection, i want the plug in just know if the browser is only pt, or en or other language and not specify the country PT, BR, UK etc how i can achieve that?

My question: how do I enable German language for the backend?

I have seen that there are already dozens of languages in the booking/languages folder, including the German .mo/.po files.

I’m using German as a backend language, but all of the calendar functions show up in English.
