My plugin (Loco Translate) is affected, and I’m fixing this. However, it may not account for every problem, and it’s not possible for most users to attribute fault.
For example, the current stable version of WooCommerce listens on the plugin_locale filter, which has been suddenly removed. I don’t know the inner workings of WooCommerce, but possibly there are points of failure you can attribute also.
For any of your customers using Loco Translate, the current development version has a fix which should be tried as a first course of action.
]]>Is there a fix for this? A setting I’m missing, or is this a bug in the latest version of WP?
Summary:
$l10n
parameter must be an array. To pass arbitrary data to scripts, use the wp_add_inline_script()
function instead. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 5.7.0.) in \wwwroot\wp-includes\functions.php on line 6085″Is this a bug? Are some languages only officially supported in the PRO version?
How can I add a custom language that is not present in the default dropdown?
Is it a valid workaround to patch Polylang’s code and just add fr_CH
?
Perhaps it is good that the maintainers of amr-ical-events-list recheck/regenerate all their MO files for the next release. Perhaps also remove the directory amr-ical-events-list-da_DK?
]]>Previously it had always been in English. No changes have been made to the site by our staff.
My WordPress language settings defined at /wp-admin/options-general.php specify English as the site’s default language.
My relevant admin user’s preferred language setting is defined as “Site default”
WPML is installed on the website for an alternate French version of the website but no modifications have been made to its settings that would allow it to translate outgoing emails.
Although outgoing emails are sent by WP Mail SMTP no modifications have been made to translate emails into another language from its settings or configuration.
All other site notification emails are in english (eg: Password reset)
]]>I currently develop my own block editor plugin and follow this guidance to provide translations. There’s a directory called languages
containing all translation files such as .mo
and .json
. Everything works fine before upgrading to 6.5.
After upgrading to 6.5, my own translations aren’t loaded and fallback to the default language (English). I’ve tried the suggestion in this post, using translation_file_format
and load_translation_file
filters, but nothing works for me.
Could anyone help?
]]>I translated that plugin and README into Japanese!
Enjoy!
日本語環境で SVG Support をお使いのみなさん ! プラグインが日本語化されました !
]]>Any plans to change this? Translations would clearly bring more visibility and reach.
Kindest,
Thomas
PS: I would take care of the German translation once it is possible.
]]>In the latest version, there is a new string “Syncing data with the cloud. Usually, it takes a few seconds.” which I have translated into German today. This string is not visible in the plugins settings, though.
Instead, the “Synchronize with Cloud” button has a mouseover explanation text “Sychronizing account status, SpamFireWall database, all kind of journals.”, which appears in English in the German l10n and is not listed among the strings in the Translating WordPress backend.
Bug or feature?
Best wishes,
Thomas
