Need Journalized 2.x, please (and editing help)!

I would like to switch to the Journalized theme, but the one I have (the original, I think) doesn’t include the critical “previous posts” and “next posts,” and I can’t seem to figure out how to add them without breaking the whole thing. I understand that this issue has been corrected in a newer release of the theme, but the author’s site is down. Does anyone have it, who would be willing to email it to me?

Also, two questions related to this theme:

1. Does anyone happen to know whether the newer version (2.something) is widgetized?

2. I want to add a footer that spans the entire width of the page, below both sidebars and the main center section. How do I tell the .css to place it there and size it properly? I’m very new to .css, and I’ve tried several things but none of them is putting the footer in the right place.

Journalized Theme Version 2 broken by wp 2.2.1

Hello I upgraded from wp 2.0 to 2.2.1 and it broke the theme mentioned.
In this theme there is a options page called
Journalized theme options. It has a save button. The save button does not write to the sql tables anymore.
This is preformed by a file called functions.php.
This file has default setting for this theme. If I edit thoose, it writes to the sql dbase.
But if i hit save button on page it does not.
I assume that a minor change was made on how the data is saved to dbase in wordpress when upgrading from 2.0 to 2.2
as the upgrade script says as much when you run it.

Anyways it seems that some minor mod is needed here to get this theme back up… can anyone help me with this… thanks..

I managed to get the image in place of the text as a header..I am sure i have wrecked the scripting somewhat doing this..what I can’t get now is for it to center….help..

3 column theme (Journalized 2.0) problem with middle column overlap on permalink

I’ve been tearing my hair out over this trying to figure it out.

Why does the center column overlap the right column when a permalink is accessed in IE? It doesn’t do this when somebody accesses the index.php file, only on permalink pages. I know this has to be simple, but I’m not having any luck resolving it, and any help would be appreciated.

journalized theme categories

I’m using the journalized theme and the categories are listed in alphabetical order straight down. I have 22 categories and I’m wanting the categories to be have the child cats indented and under their parent cats but I can’t figure out how to do it. I’ve tried a couple different cat plug-ins but whenever I add the code to the sidebar I completely lose the sidebar. I am really at a loss here. I really like the, “My Category Order” (https://www.geekyweekly.com/mycategoryorder) but like I said, whenever I try to add in the code my sidebar vanishes..

Please can anyone help me with this?

missing rightcolumn.php

When I go to Manage>Files within the WordPress SiteAdmin, I do not see my rightcolumn.php on the right side under “Recent” or “Common”.

Where could of it gone? I’m using Journalized Sand as my Theme.

Expanding comment box in IE

I’m using a tweaked-up version of the Journalized Blue template for my site, and it’s been called to my attention that on IE, when you begin typing a comment, the comment box expands all the way to the right of the page, and even allows typing beyond the right edge of the box before eventually wrapping to the next line.

Any thoughts what might cause this, and what I need to do to fix it??? The site is https://www.haveyoumettony.com

Theme spontaneously deactivated itself!

I recently installed Mike Little’s theme Journalized 2.0 (https://zed1.com/journalized/themes/journalized-theme-version-2/) on my blog, with some modifications. The theme is supposedly compatible with WP 1.5.2, which is what I’m using, and at first, it appeared to be working fine.

However, overnight, the theme deactivated itself and activated the default Kubrick theme!! I have no idea what would cause this, but needless to say, it is very disconcerting. It actually happened on two separate occasions. I then re-activated Journalized and moved all of my other themes, including the “default,” to a different folder, in hopes that WP would be unable to spontaneously switch themes if no other themes existed. But an hour or so later, it did indeed attempt to switch to the “default” theme — and since no default theme existed, my blog went totally blank. (I ascertained what had happened by looking at the options table in my MySQL database and seeing that the template had switched to the word “default,” again without any input by yours truly.)

It’s like my WordPress installation is having an allergic reaction to Journalized! After an hour or two, it automatically deactivates it and attempts to switch to the “default” theme. I realize this isn’t a Journalized forum, and I did leave a comment on Mr. Little’s blog… but does anyone have any idea what could cause something like this?

Comments with long URL’s crashing my theme?

Yep, it’s me again…

Using a modified version Mike Little’s Journalized (Blue) theme with the 3-column design.

Everytime somebody posts a comment with a long URL, it causes my middle column with the post’s content to widen and overlap the left-hand sidebar.

Should I be looking for some sort of a plug-in to modify the long URL’s into a single link or something… or should I be looking to modify the CSS to fix it? Sorry – still a noobie, but learning tons, thanks to you guys and gals in this forum.

Any help would be appreciated… I’m getting tired of logging onto my blog to see it’s all screwed up, then finding the comment containing the long URI, then manually editing the poster’s comment so it will stop causing the problem with the theme.

Hebrew Date and Journalized Blue

I am running Mike Little’s “Journalized Blue” theme and would like to use Kosher Java’s “Hebrew Date” plugin along with it. I installed Hebrew Date and it works great in the comments, but doesn’t show up anywhere else. It also worked fine on the pre-installed themes. Does anyone know what I’ll have to change in either the plugin or the theme to make them play nicely together?
