Jetpack gallery not working (Jun/Jul 24)

Noticed that two recent galleries – Jun and Jul 2024 – have images not displaying correctly. Links here:

They were working before. Site accelerator was always on. Did turn it off and on to test it.

Have deleted cache to see if that worked. Didn’t work but other galleries for 2023 and 2024 are OK.

Has there been a recent problem with the gallery plugin failing? And how do I fix this?

Broken Images with https://i0.wp.com/ link

We’ve been using jetpack for our galleries on https://directorsnotes.com for years without any trouble, however I’ve noticed over the last week or so that some of the gallery images in new posts are coming up broken and are linking out to https://i0.wp.com/ addresses which resolve in a “We cannot complete this request, remote data could not be fetched” error page. Renaming and reuploading the affected images seems to work but looking through our archive I can see that this issue is also affecting old posts which have been perfectly fine for years!

We have never turned on “Enable site accelerator” or any of the Jetpack performance options so why is this happening, especially in our archive? We have over 5.5K posts on the site with the vast majority featuring at least one instance (or more) Jetpack galleries!!!

I am using jetpack carousel photo gallery. But the photos show up on google as “https://i2.wp.com/sitename.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/FullSizeRender.jpg”, not as a title.

Gallery lightbox not working in some browsers

it work fine in FF, but be broken in Chrome. There is a TypeError in the JS Console when it is broken.

That error is coming from JetPack.

Gallery and pinterest

So on galleries – seems to be the first gallery in a post, when someone goes to “pin” the image, it doesn’t reference the post, just the main website. Any suggestions on what is going on?

Jetpack gallery doesn’t lazyload

Hi there,

I have few galleries here placed in tabs as jetpack gallery doesn’t offer filtering/tabs. I used intense gallery plugin before and it was lazy loading only the portion what you see on the screen. Now with the new Jetpack gallery it loads all photos at ones (no idea all in the first gallery or all galleries alltogether) which freezes the page. I use the CG cacher to lazy load as Jetpack lazyload breaks the Divi before/after plugin.

Any ideas how to fix the gallery to lazy load and load fast?

Paste to Gallery from URL on Mac

I have successfully pasted to a jetpack gallery from a URL on a PC w/ Firefox.

My client, OTOH, is on a Mac (lastest OS, latest Chrome Browser)- and they’re not getting the option to paste to a gallery from a URL (I had them share their desktop to be sure).

What gives?

They have the option to paste a single image to a post, but not to a gallery. And pasting from URL to post does not put the image in the media library.

We’re both on 5.1.1 using the Classic Editor.

Jecpack setting affect my theme picture thumbnail

Hi I instilled Jeckpack and turned on settings in the Media, as I like the tile gallery type. But after I turn this on, the theme thumbnail size on my side column on front page somehow won’t show as the standard thumbnail size anymore. See www.thebikinibride.com. Can you let me know how can I get the “Good To Know” column thumbnail size same as the rest feature picture on front page?

Image Issues

I have been having a lot of issues with image handling on my site lately, and I’m at a loss for what could be going wrong.

Images appear fine on my desktop, but once I upload them, they are often blurry, desaturated, and/or overexposed. You can see an example here (please click to enlarge to see details better). It’s hard to tell how blurry and desaturated they are compared to what I’m seeing on my computer since it’s an image that I uploaded, and therefore, it’s having the same issues there… But you can at least see how overexposed they are compared to what they’re supposed to be.

I always upload images that have been optimized/resized for web viewing in photoshop to reduce file size and loading time since my site has a lot of images. I also make sure my images are set to have an sRGB color profile. I am using Jetpack tiled galleries, and the overexposure issue appears to go away if a reader opens an image in the lightbox viewer.

Any ideas what could be going on and how I can fix it/prevent it from happening?

Does Veggie Lite support WP Gallery Custom Links?

I’m using a Jetpack gallery in the sidebar and have downloaded WP Gallery Custom Links so each picture can link to a different page on site, however I’m having no success and it was suggested in a forum that the theme may not support it.
