I’m trying to install the iTuneswatcher plug-in and am not getting anywhere. Both the plug-in iTunesSpy and iTuneswatcher3 are installed but it’s as if they are not communicating. At the bottom of the iTunesWatcher display box is an error message that says: Error (Argument iTunesSpy’ missing or invalid value).

1. what exactly do I use for my server URL?
2. What do I use for the HTTP Authentication username and password?

itunesspy authorization error

I am trying to get itunesspy 2.3.0 and ituneswatcher3 working. I have followed all the instructions and have both programs installed in their proper places. The problem seems to be that ituneswatcher is not sending the info to itunesspy. In ituneswatcher3 settings I click test and it says the Url is OK and that itunesSpy in enabled, but it says: “ituneswatcher enabled: False” I dont know how it can see itunesspy, but not ituneswatcher? Anyone had this problem?

Hey all,

I’m trying to install iTunesSpy into my weblog here www.sevenstripes.com/blog.

The problem is I cannot find out where to locate my iTunes Authorization Key…

Does anyone know where the heck I can find it so I can plug it into this plugin?

I have installed ItunesSpy for Mac, checked and re-checked the installation. All the test pages within the iTunesSpy Admin page seem to work and I’ve checked the code inserted into my sidebar many times. The authentication key is ok, so is the amazon ID key. I’m running this on an iMac G5, on WordPress 2 using the latest version of iTunesSpy. The Applescript is running without errors.

Still, the songs played on my iTunes are not making it into the database. The only content showing up on the blog is the test data sent from the admin page.

Any help would be very appreciated.

I’ve rolled out two ‘hacks’ for crea-doo’s iTunesSpy:

Mac support – functional mac applescript makes itunes and itunessspy communicate. should now be included in crea-doo’s install package (as of v 1.7?), but also downloadable, with an extra spiffy icon, from geekgrl.net

Xoops support – for those using phppp’s fabulous XPress – port of WP 1.5.2 for XOOPS, this hack will add iTunesSpy content to a Xoops block. also available in the downloads section at geekgrl.net
