i’m having a “http error” everytime i try to upload a image.
i dont know why is this happening, because it was working perfectly last week and then stopped. since then i upgraded my wp version, so it might be related with this, but im not sure. my wp version is now 3.5.1. (upgraded from 3.5)
i can upload small images (up to 100kb and/or up to 1000px wide), but sometimes images bigger than that just dont work. (i was able to upload a small (640×480) bmp image with about 1MB, but not a wide (3600×2800) jpg with only 600kb, which makes no sense at all).
when crashing the loading bar stops about 70%, sometimes more, the image gets uploaded only in full size (thumbs not generated) and the media editor cant find the image. It says that the requested media dont exist. still the file can be deleted from the media library.
i’ve been searching web for solutions and found almost nothing.
here is what i’ve already tried:
– uploads with diferent file sizes, formats and dimensions to check if it’s compatibility-related – couldnt find a pattern to explain the error;
– edited .htaccess file to include
<IfModule mod_security.c>
<Files async-upload.php>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</Files>
</IfModule>;
as it worked with some people, but not with me;
– checked upload and file size limits in php.ini (everything is fine there)
– disabled all plugins (problem persists);
– changed theme (twenty twelve has the same problem as well);
– reinstall wp 3.5.1 (nothing changed);
i’ve seen a lot of people with the same problem but just a few of them could get a proper solution. some solutions was related to plugins issues, or themes, or php config, but nothing i’ve tried worked. any ideas?
thx

]]>I have read a lot of posts about this issue on here, but most seem to be form 1 year+ ago – so wondering if anyone is having these issues with WordPress 3.3.1 / 3.3.2?
I was having the issues yesterday so updates my site to 3.3.2 thinking this may solve it but still having issues.
Most of the time i get the ‘HTTP error’ message, but then sometime’ ‘Operation timed out’, then sometimes ‘IO error’ – it’s driving me crazy – especially trying to explain to my client what the heck is going one, as intermittently we are able to upload an image, then it goes back to not working again!
Anyone have a solid answer yo how to fix this, but get onto it WordPress guys it is a big issue!!!
Thanks in advance
]]>I hope you’ll help me. I’m getting this strange error …. Today I tried to upload an image but received this text : ‘IQ error.‘
I searched on google and on this platform about this error but found nothing serious. Check this snap: https://i51.tinypic.com/zk2wrk.png

Some online forums suggest using the browser uploader, but I need to be able to upload multiple images at a time (which is apparently impossible unless you use the Flash uploader). I can successfully upload when I try on my wife’s computer, suggesting it’s not a WordPress-based issue.
I cannot currently use other browsers (Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer). I haven’t changed my proxy settings at any point. Could certain flash-based programs be conflicting which is causing the error?
I’ve tried installing, re-installing, downgrading, upgrading and restarting but to no avail. This is driving me crazy. Somebody, anybody… HELP!
]]>I have another weird thing going on, and I would like to know why, but I’m trying not to be greedy, so I only list it here in case it is a clue to the upload behavior:
It appears that I might have gotten a faulty backup. I use installatron to do backups and there were two there…the odd thing is, that it affected my uploads folder by creating an additional folder for every single year and month, with some long-string name that included the word backup and then a string of numbers. In 99% of the cases, the backup folder was identical to the actual image folder, but in two or three folders, the weird backup folder had many more files in it, which I had to copy over.
I did all of that, eliminated the duplicate folders and did a new backup which looks normal.
The only other things I have recently changed (but before I started having the problems) was that I added three new plugins:
Exclude Pages from Navigation
GTranslate
Pages Posts
Again, I don’t mean to be giving TOO MUCH INFORMATION…just didn’t want to leave out any possible clues.
Thank you all in advance!
Debbie
