I was still able to access my WP dashboard. So I went in there and clicked on the little ? in the bottom right corner, thinking that would give me WP help. It doesn’t. It sent me to Jetpack support. I can’t figure out how to get a chat going with someone from WP.
Next step, a friend of a friend is a geek and I got him into my Cpanel and he fixed whatever happened and I was able to get on my website again. Great! But now I can’t access my WP Admin. It keeps telling me I’ve entered an invalid log in name and email. Yet these are the same ones I’ve been using for a while and that the guy used to get in. He could still get in. My friend was able to get in. But on both my computers, I can’t log in. I tried changing my password, again, it says my email address is wrong. My friends tried changing the password for me and I still can’t get in. We went into Cpanel and my log in name is different than what I normally use so I tried using that name and the new password we just set up. That didn’t work. I can log into the WP Admin of a second website I have on the same WP dashboard, with the same name and password that should be working for my main website admin. Nothing has worked. My friends tried everything they could think of but no matter what, I’m the only one who can’t get into my WP Admin for that one site. I cleared the cache and cookies on both computers. Every 3 log in attempts I get locked out for 15 minutes. This is insane that I can access one WP Admin but not the other. On top of it, I can’t get a chat going with WP because my only option apparently is email even though it says I should be able to contact them via chat 24/7. This is going on 7 hours of insanity. Help, please!
]]>I was working off of MAMP as my local host. I couldn’t get it to work properly with GoDaddy’s servers and tried to remove my WP site from MAMP and upload my files on my computer directly to GoDaddy. BIG MISTAKE. My WP account would say invalid user at this point. I couldn’t access my WP site or account.
I reinstalled MAMP. Lost all information, but was able to “repoint” my MAMP back to my WP account – now able to get into my WP account. I developed a “small” site and tried to upload it to GoDaddy.
Once I changed my WP address URL from “localhost/..” to the domain name, WP logged me out automatically. Now when I try to log back in – it says invalid user.
How do I fix this?

]]>in wp_users I have an instance of a username ‘WordPress’ that is an administrator, reason I find it suspicious is it also exists in the “staging” version of the blog also the creation timestamps is all zeroes, and does not appear in the User Admin page… any thoughts?
Also in the users table I keep seeing many users with random user names ie: ‘KbhLNmKJCPVDyZAZ’… they appear to be subscribers, but this just looks like something a bot would use to register… does anyone else see these in their database
Thanks in advance!
Correction: I’m using version 2.1.3.
