valid header issue on ALL plugins?

Clicked to update 3 plugins in my admin today and received the following error message for all of my installed plugins.

The plugin [insert name of plugin here] has been deactivated due to an error: The plugin does not have a valid header.

We run a variety of commonly used plugins (Akisment, Gravity Forms, SEO Ultimate, Visual Composer, etc.) so I find it awfully convenient that each one suddenly does not have a valid header.

My plugins folder is intact, and I have only been dealing with this error over the last two days. We restored from a backup that was built before the error – but when I re-entered the plugin directory to update this AM, the error once again was created.

Anyone else experience this? Are there folders or locations I need to check to find a file? How do I fix this?

I think that i have tried almost all i can on this to get a csv to import. I have 2 gravity forms with the same labels except the form name. I have exported an entry from one form and wanted to import the entry into another form. I have tried in the headers (via excel csv) “example header”, “example header” (and) example header. Both forms are the same (as one was a copy of the other. Exported as csv and then tried to import the exported csv (from GF) yet still no luck! But it shows ALL headers are invalid even though i have tried what i believe to be most header options as above. I tried to follow the link to a previous .csv that you placed in a different thread but it was a bad link? Anyway, any help would be great. Is there something i can send for you to look at please? I have even copied and pasted the screen import LABEL’s into the csv column headers. Regards scoc

Possible Hacked Website/Plugins

Okay, so I’ve been getting an error from my plug-ins about an invalid header. After some research, I’m thinking the site was hacked. Here’s what I did:

Changed the admin password to something even harder than befre
Changed the secret keys to new salt keys & updated the config file
Deleted all the plugin files from the host side and installed all new copies
Installed an antivirus plugin to scan everything in WordPress

The plugin I’m using says it suspects malware. Every scan has the same line of code:

How do I go about removing this from wherever it resides?

Current Setup:

Theme X theme
Multiple plugins, all seems to be reputable and most are purchased instead of free versions
Updated to WordPress 4.0 yesterday, but found the invalid header error today

Sorry, if this is a repeat, I’ve looked through a few other posts that include steps that talk about removing the lines of code from the plugin php files, but not sure how to find and do that .

Fatal error on my wordpress based site

I get this error message when I go to the events section of my site. Does anyone have any idea of what this is or how I can fix it.

If you go to this page (https://www.livemusiccity.com/shows/) and click on any event this error code comes up but no where else in the site.

Word salad injected in the header of every single plugin PHP file – help! D:

Hi,

I attempted to install WpBackup on a client site and immediately all my plugins stopped working due to invalid headers. I deleted WPBackup and reset the plugins folder but every single plugin file now has an additional PHP tag with garbled code in it like this injected at the start of the file before the ‘real’ opening PHP tag:

I am going through and removing all of these manually. Please tell me there is a faster way to do this (I am not a database expert but am hoping there might be a query that could solve it), I don’t know what to do.

I’m sorry to ask the same question as so many other’s here in the support area, but there just doesn’t seem to be a very clear cut way of troubleshooting. I’ve looked everywhere for an example csv which would work, but no luck.

I’m using gravity forms 1.7.10.

Invalid Headers

Trying to import a csv file. I have made sure that everything is comma delimited and enclosed in double quotes. The file is utf-8 encoded. It keeps saying 2 certain columns have invalid headers. I have double and triple checked the text entered for the headers on the file and have even tried various spacing options etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can email you the file if that helps.

Creating a plugin install zip file with valid headers

Could someone explain to me the etiquette of creating a plugin? I have a plugin that for the last five months has done fine. Then I expanded and required more files. To keep it better organized, I put the non-core files into a sub-folder. When I ZIP it up and install it onto another WordPress install, I get the error: “Invalid Headers” and the plugin won’t activate.

This only happens when…

Installing from a ZIP file. FTP works fine.
Trying to activate it after the plugin is uploaded via ZIP. If I go to my plugins page instead and click activate, everything goes fine.

I read somewhere online that WordPress cannot handle ZIP files with sub-folders. Is that true? It seems to me that large plugins like WooCommerce work fine. So why doesn’t mine?
