Sometimes it crashes my account page, and after a few refreshes it works. I could live with that…

But the ad on EVERY page to buy the PRO version is too much!

With the last update (1.3.4) this plugin came a HUGE blue advertisement that is extremely invasive and without the possibility of turning it off.

If you don’t like it simply rename the “blocks” folder (path: https://your-domain/wp-content/plugins/wpdash-notes/blocks) to something like “_blocks.BACKUP”. :o)

Fix your marketing notices

Amazing plugin, easily deserves a 5 star rating, however it shows the marketing ad on my WP Admin which I can’t get rid of no matter which button I click. The banner title is “Exclusive offer – 60% off!” (unfortunately I can’t attach a screenshot here).

By the way, I’m using a plugin for hiding admin notices in a separate sidebar, and this is the only notice that is not affected by that plugin. Stop these intrusion ads, they are infuriating.

Please stop with the junk.

I’ve paid for monster insights pro in the past, but never again. As a small agency owner, I appreciate that your plugin makes it super easy to track certain events…really, I do, but last year you started installing a lot of bloat…look I know aiseo exists, it’s just sub par and not my choice. I also know wp forms exists, I went a different direction. Having those pushed on me makes me less likely to ever use them.

I hate that junk, but now you opted me and my clients in to reporting emails that we didn’t ask for, with 60+ sites that I manage, I have to login to each and disable this. Look, make the reports a thing, I get that some people want them, but don’t opt me into emails without my permission.

I am strongly considering removing your plugin from all of the sites I manage. Oh and fix the http response headers, or make https possible with a switch.

Intrusive promos cost me time and money

I use it at a basic level on all my sites. Not the paid Pro version. It’s the ONLY WordPress plugin of all the ones I use, out of quite a lot, that feels entitled to frequently show a red circle notification next to the plugin name in my WordPress dashboard that is commonly used to notify the user of essential, required updates or other essential admin issues but instead almost always turns out to be nothing more than a promotional ad to sell us an upgrade.

Two stars, folks, and I may be uninstalling it if this continues. Have you never done market research or user-feedback surveys to ask how annoying versus how profitable this practice is? Are you not aware that virtually NO other plugin makers engage in this practice? Are you not aware of the TIME and MONEY you are costing the end user because they feel compelled to chase down the source of that red notification, which in fact often takes a little extra time to even isolate with all your menu choices?

Please STOP it! I’m busy trying to run a few businesses! Each of those businesses is on the brink of massive funding and growth and very likely would have been going all in on many of your offerings soon, but with this intrusive, annoying promotional behavior there’s no way we’ll be doing that.

Annoying pop-up video

WHY OH WHY are you so desperate to market Stop Bad Bots to everyone? Annoying and distracting red buttons to the most stupid stunt to far, the POP-UP video. Yes, that’s right, a video that pops-up and immediately annoys people.

Bill, you need to stop all this awful marketing and concentrate on offering a great product which people value more than terrible stunts to market in the admin section. If the product is good then people will pay for it.

I, for one, will delete this plugin very soon if the awful marketing intrusions carry on. I am sure many others will feel the same.

Intrusive Ads

I receive a notification at the top of almost all WP admin pages offering a free trial to Pixel Manager’s premium plugin, even on non-WC pages. I feel these ads are obtrusive and unfair to other plugin developers that play by the rules. It’s not just me though… WordPress has made it clear that the admin notice feature in WordPress was designed for providing crucial information about plugins and is not intended to be used as a billboard.

Disable the metabox

Hi,

I installed 5.0 and now, when viewing the site’s pages, that big purple and very annoying metabox icon is hovering on the bottom left of every page.

I tried every methods listed here to disable it:

But none of them work, and I still don’t want the icon everywhere.

How do I get rid of it?

Avoid it like the plague. Granted this review has colorful comments, it has some important details to pay attention to:

Instead of editing an existing page built with a different page builder, it only lets you make a new one from scratch; whereas if you’re switching from Gutenberg to Elementor, or reverting back from Elementor to Gutenberg, you can still retain the original contents of your page.
I had to revert my site to a previous backup because it wiped my homepage upon trying to edit it, and it saved and published the blank page without even asking for confirmation. It is one thing to be unable to edit an existing page, but it’s an entire new problem if on top of being unable to edit it, it’s going to be overwritten without previous knowledge or consent.

It is embarrassing that this page building plugin is included in lists of “top WordPress page builders”. The Gutenberg block editor is better than this. Seriously, save yourself a headache and stay away from this horrible unpolished mess of a plugin.

Leave A Review – Banner

Receive a large ad on all admin pages for a review of Cookiebot titled “Leave A Review?” in 24pt font at the top of every admin page, for every single user… even “reader” roles who cannot install plugins.

I respectfully request that you use the admin notice feature in WordPress for providing crucial information about your plugins and not as a billboard.
