Unable to upload wp-admin when migrating to new host

I’ve changed my hosting provider and use the free version of Duplicator to back up my website. I’ve now been setting my website up with Scaleway as my new host and have managed to upload all files and my database, but the wp-admin folder isn’t there. I receive an error message saying:

checkdir error: wp-admin exists but is not directory unable to process wp-admin/.

checkdir error: wp-admin exists but is not directory unable to process wp-admin/admin-ajax.php. checkdir error: wp-admin exists but is not directory unable to process wp-admin/admin-footer.php. checkdir error: wp-admin exists but is not directory unable to process wp-admin/admin-functions.php. checkdir error: wp-admin exists but is not directory unable to process wp-admin/admin-header.php.

and so on…. I’ve tried zipping, uploading and extracting the wp-admin folder that was from my back up, but also a fresh one that I downloaded again from wordpress, but keep getting the same error.

Unfortunately it means I no longer have a working website and I’m unable to connect my database. Please can someone help guide me as I’m really pulling my hair out with this one! I’m currently on day 2 of trying to solve it and I think I’ve exhausted all my ideas.

Possibly malware on installer file

I see some support topics recently about missing installer files, and I wonder if my issue is related.

I created a package, downloaded the .zip file fine. But the installer download was blocked because of malware detected.

I then went into my hosting filemanager, and found out that the installer.php file was missing. Possibly my host also detected malware and pro-actively quarantined the file (not sure)?

The .bak installer file was there, so I downloaded that with FileZilla. Then scanning it with Microsoft Defender, a trojan is detected and the file gets deleted. Below is a screenshot:

I’ll scan my hosting account and WordPress installation, but wanted to make you aware of this as well.

Hey, i have just backed up my web site using duplicator to upload it to another host. for some reason the installer.php file is coming out like this

Local Install not validating database

HI There,

I’m trying to use Duplicator to set up a local environment for me to build out my website. I’ve added the plugin and downloaded both packages. I’m using MAMP as my local server.

When I head to localhost:8888/installer.php, the installer comes up as expected. On the database section, I change the action to create new database, add in the host name “localhost”, give a database name and then add the user information in. I have double check the user name and password is correct.

When I go to submit, I receive the follow error message:
“Unable to connect the user?[root]?to the host?[localhost].
The server error response was:?No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it‘”

I’ve checked in firewall and nothing seems to be blocking the connection. I’m really not sure what I can do to fix this and look forward to your help!

Installer.php does not run!!

Hi, I have successfully performed all the steps of migrating my complete wordpress to another domain (both hosted on Siteground) but when I try to run the installer.php it does not run. It sends me to a 404 page

Please can you help me?

Installer and archive mismatch detected

I’ve been using Duplicator plugin for years, but I have a problem that I can’t solve, I created an archive at flashback.com.ec to change hosting company, I downloaded the archive but not the installer. I found an old installer on my computer so I tried to use that one changing the code with the archive file name but is not working as you can see here https://flashback.com.ec/installer.php

Please help me! I can’t download the correct installer because that website does not exist anymore. What can I do?

Critical Error?!?

You know, I was thinking about buying the Pro version of your software because it seemed pretty clever. But now I’m not so sure. Because after modifying my (valid) mysql password to avoid greater than symbols being escaped I was able to get the installer.php to run…only to wind up, when I tried to do an admin login, with the extremely helpful error message “A critical error occurred”.

How do I go about trying to figure out what the heck has gone wrong?

I have used Duplicator (free version) to package and download my website from my old host and have the two files (zipped one and installer.php one). I have then installed on new host and done all other steps but when I get to the step where you go to the link and put in “yourdomain.tld/installer.php link, replacing yourdomain.tld with your actual domain name” …nothing works.

So effectively I’ve been unable to install files/view site. My host support does not know how to fix it and just told me to try it again (which I have).

Any ideas? I’ve spent hours on this and just can’t understand where I’ve gone wrong.

Hi,
I want to migrate my wp site to new hosting from local machine.

I used duplicator, but it not works.

I used classic install and two-part install. On both options I have the same problem.

When I run installer.php there is page with “Step 1 of 4: Deployment
This step will extract the archive file contents.” and that’s all. I can’t click on any of buttons, when I click next, nothing happening.
I tried all methods from troubleshooting page but it still doesn’t work.

Please help

Duplicator (Schritt 4 von 4: Site testen und Weiterleitung zu WordPress Login) bekomme ich die Fehlermeldung ?Du bist leider nicht berechtigt, auf diese Seite zuzugreifen.“, obwohl ich WordPress (über all-inkl.com) installiert habe. Ich wei? mir keinen Rat, was ich tun k?nnte und warum ich mich selber sperre. Kann mir bitte jemand weiterhelfen?
