I am having exported post XML file from my site, and i have to import to another site.

When i am trying to import XML file, getting an error like Failed to import Media. No media and parent categories. I’m using WordPress Importer plugin

When your client’s site is on a GoDaddy “Managed WordPress” account and you can’t get the SFTP connection to work, just install this and upload or download whatever you need. I found that I need to first zip/archive the folder in order to download it, but that’s faster anyway.

Perfect for downloading the Uploads folder to move or export a site, since the native export/import hasn’t been working for the image library in months.

If using this to export/import the image library, you’ll probably also need the “Add to Server” plugin to connect images to the database.

I just had to change servers,

– i uploaded all the hard files via ftp
– then installed a fresh copy of wordpress
– imported xml using the wordpress importer (tried both settings downlod media/and not doing it)
– media folder is empty
– all the paths should be exactly the same on media files

Importing media attached to articles with shortcodes

Hi,

I’ve just bought the plugin and I have and issue, is the plugin doing the import of media if the images are attached to articles with shortcodes?

I’m migrating a websites from Joomla to WP and I found in every article that they have shortcodes like this for media: {gallery}img/621{/gallery}

After the first attempt of migration (I have around 70k articles) the plugin doesn’t import media and there’s no issue with the URL.

Plugin Importer still doesn't download and import file attachments / media?!?

I wanted to export posts (which attached comments and media/images) from one site and import them into a new site.

No matter how I do it:
– All content
– Posts only

Even though when I use the importer I choose:
– Download and import file attachments

My media library fails to upload completely. (With the All content option I got a small fraction of my media library. With the Posts only option I got none.) My site is relatively tiny. (Less than 200 posts and the images that go with it.)

Looking back through the archives searching for a fix, this has been a problem for more than 4 years!

I am using the Genesis Framework with FoodiePro (both sites). The ONLY plugin on the site I’m trying to import to is the WordPress Importer plugin itself, so it isn’t a plugin conflict.

Is there anyway for me to do this other than to use the WP Attachment Export plugin to export my entire media library and then have to go in and do search and replace to fix the links in my posts (so that my links in my posts will link to the right location for my media)? I have a software engineer to help me with that this time, but I won’t always have that help.

Can this plugin work with a single sql file?

Hello there. Does this plugin work if I extract the database of a joomla site(as an .sql file) and then I import it to a WordPress one? Can this plugin import and upload the media files to the WordPress Installation?

Filter import images

Hi,
I would like to know if exist an add on,or a tip, that filters images for imports of media by resolution. Indeed, I have a folder with many many images (about 30.000) between full images and child images (thumbs). I would like to import only full images and not thumbs, and I can not select one by one.

Multiple logins and pix won't display

Am asked for login several times a day, sometimes for separate login to view site statistics, which then often hang. This is recent.
When I import a picture into my post it will not display, nor can I edit it, in the edit new post page, although it does appear in the preview and in the published post.
What is going on with WordPress?

Any chance to suggest adding thumbs to Add From Server UI, so that a the image file can be previewed before selecting for import? Thanks!
