Import Failure

The import is failing after the first 6 users, and on the import screen it says, “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. If you continue to have problems, please contact the support forums”, but nothing is shown in the debug log, and I never receive an email with instructions. I suspect there are some characters it doesn’t like, but without further information, it’s hard to tell. There are some warnings on the export about “Some values being altered” to prevent certain formulas from auto-running in spreadsheet apps, and so it inserts a single quote character, but that is it. Any help would be appreciated.

Import will not start

I am trying to import a 700+mb wpress file into a new site on a new host. The file limit is set to 1GB. But after hours, the import meter is still at the beginning. 0%.

What should I try to fix this? I need to get this site setup and all I have is the wpress file provided by the website developer.

Failed to import Media

I am using WordPress 5.6.1 and created an export file from one WordPress site and tried to import it to another site on the same host but I got a bunch of messages of the form:

Failed to import Media

With no further description of the reason for failure. The XML export file I’m trying to import is < 500k is there a way to get a more detailed description of the problem encountered or what’s the best way to debug this?

Trouble importing data into development site

Overall: I am attempting to install a new theme in a development site and failing.

Specifically:
> I have a site (www.mysite.com)
> I have set up a development site on another server (dev.mysite.com)
> Using updraft plus, I cloned mysite.com and installed it on dev.mysite.com using the restore function
> I modified the site urls in the database to reflect the development domain
> I installed the new theme. This process required me to export my content into an XML file because the theme installer deletes all existing content
> The new theme installed, but now when I try to import my content, the import fails at Step 2 with a 404 Error.

My question: Any idea as to why the import is failing?

Variable length CSV file

We have an excel file which records member attendance for meetings held twice a month. The exported CSV file has rows with column data up to the current meeting.
So for the first month each member has an Id number, a last name, a first name, and one field for the first meeting (a character X for attended, or N for not-attended) as follows:
203,Schrage,James,X
For the second month each member has an Id number, a last name, a first name, and one field for the first meeting (a character X for attended, or N for not-attended), and a second field for the second meeting as follows:
203,Schrage,James,X,X
The table definition has 29 fields for Id, Last Name, First Name, and 24 columns for the attendance codes.
I’ve tried to import and it fails as all columns are not present.

I’ve been using Powerpress with no issue for the past 3 months. I’ve been able to import my show episodes from BlogTalkRadio without any issues. Yesterday when I tried to import the latest show episode I received the following error: Importing Podcast

cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10000 milliseconds with 1776090 out of 1895470 bytes received

If I use the https version of the link the import runs but finds no episodes to import.

I’ve deactivated caching plugins and security plugins and it still fails.

I did an import of 2 episodes last Tuesday and everything ran perfectly.

Hello there – first of all, I love your plug-in. I’ve used it without problem on several other sites and it is a life saver. Thank you!

Currently, however, I’m exporting a staging site and importing it onto the live server. I get the following error message:

Unable to seek to offset 9112 on /home/mainein2/public_html/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/storage/fcwf86ov5y6j/dev.rootandblossomdesign.com-20160906-220711-878.wpress

I have read previous support threads about this message, but they don’t seem very relevant. I am NOT using windows, and my exported file is not bigger than 2gb. It is 90mb. I’m on a mac. Using the free version of the plug-in. Any suggestions?

I am trying to copy my live site to a localhost for testing, it is a large site so I have paid for the upgrade to the file size. But I cannot import, it fails and gives the following error message
