Missing a temporary folder

I have read every previous post on this topic – when I try to upload an image it says “Missing a temporary folder” and this changed happened for no discernible reason – and done everything everyone says to do:

I went into the wp-config file and put in “define(‘WP_TEMP_DIR’, dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/wp-content/temp/‘);” where it said to, with no smart quotes, and made sure the temp folder existed at that location and had the folder permissions set correctly.

I updated to the highest PHP version available on the server (Current PHP version: 7.0.30).

I also tried creating a file with a name php.ini, placing the following code inside the file: “upload_tmp_dir= your/path/to/public_html/temp/“. And yes I change the path to the correct path, saved the file, and created a temp folder at the same location, i.e. inside public_html.

No change!

If there is something I need to ask my host provider, I don’t know what it is.

Can anyone help me? I am totally befuddled.

Note: this is not a permission issue, as the upload folder is set to 777. In fact, I’ve set the main folder (in my case httpdocs), wp-content, uploads and even secure-image to 777. All are set to myself as the user. Plugin simply refuses to see the folders have full access enabled.

when i am trying to using my new theme and uploading logo or new background image nothing is happening after selecting image although image is being uploaded to wp-content/upload directory but it doesnot show on theme and with other themes i can upload images without any problem .. one more thing with all theme it is showing error
Error – The folder wp-content/uploads was not found!

but it is there

i am using this plugin but this plugin file and image upload field types do not have upload button and not also working.. if i make them optional and submit form i don’t see any image or file uploaded at backend and if i make them required then it shows error that it is a required field even if i put something to that..

if someone can help me out…

I have been trying to upload an image into my WordPress dashboard without success. Every time I try to upload the image, I get an error like below:

Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2013/08. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I am using CentOS 6.4 with latest WordPress. My WP is located in /dir1/dir2/dir3/wordpress, and below this, wp-content has “uploads” directory and within this 2013/08 directories. Additionally, I had to create uploads/2013/08 as they did not exist in the original installation. I have changed permission and that too did not work. Same upload error shows still.

This is what I do to see the error from WordPress:
1. Dashboard –> Pages –> ‘Add Media’
2. Dashboard –> Media –> ‘Add New’

As mentioned, uploading an image shows the error stated above regardless of which image I choose. I have not had any problem installing themes or plugins, just the problem with image upload.

I have rebooted my host, also, and retired image upload without success.

In addition, I also tried these as root:
1. chmod -R 777 /dir1/dir2/dir3/wordpress/wp-content/uploads
2. chgrp -R apache /dir1/dir2/dir3/wp-contents
3. chmod -R g+w /dir1/dir2/dir3/wp-contents

Got directories to look like this:

drwxrwxrwx 5 apache apache 4096 Aug 10 15:23 wp-content
drwxrwxrwx 3 apache apache 4096 Aug 10 15:27 uploads
drwxrwxrwx 3 apache apache 4096 Aug 10 15:27 2013

ie /dir1/…/wp-content/uploads/2013/08.

Then retried uploading image again, and still not joy…

My host has LAMP (CentOS) and WordPress – that’s it! This is a new installation.

Please could you suggest a fix for this kindly.

"Insert Into Post" not working, no visual editor

Since the 3.5 upgrade, I am unable to put images in new posts. I can select them from the media library, but once I click on “insert into post”, nothing happens.

I can manually enter the html code into the post and it will work.

Also, when I click on the “visual” tab for posts, it won’t switch to it.

From the master list, I have
–tried deactivating all plug-ins and am currently using none on my site (www.theukmotorsports.com).
–am using twenty eleven and also tried twenty twelve before switching back to twenty eleven.
–have cleared my browser cache. Don’t know how to clear my server cache, I’m using hostgator for hosting.
–have tried the editor in both firefox and IE.
–did a re-install (the automatic one) of WP 3.5

add media – not able to upload anything

All of a sudden I cannot upload any media to my blog.
I write the post then when I click add media the box pops up, but if I click “select files” nothing happen, I can click on the tabs above like gallery and see images, but when I click “show” again nothing happens.

I don’t know how to resolve it. It has appeared overnight, no new plugins have been added or upgraded. I have tried on Chrome, Internet Explorer and firefox. all have the same issue.

Cleared cache and cookies – still the same issue

Checked with my host

accessed from my wordpress.com account – This issue is still not resolved.

Any help would be gratefully received.

HELP! image upload not working, permissions seem right???

The admin image upload tool is no longer working for me. I get the following error, whether I’m using the Browser or Flash upload:

Unable to create directory /wp-content/uploads/2009/06. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

But I have double- and triple-checked the permissions, and they are ALL set to read/write/execute — I checked them on all four of those directories, plus the parent /wordpress/ directory where I have stashed wp-content. I’m totally flummoxed, and I can’t get images into my site anymore. Help, please!

I’m uploading an image to my Post(wp 2.3), I browse it and click upload, then, nothing happens, just a blank space appears where the file display functions are shown. If I save it and then browse the uploads, there the photo is, now I can ad it, but the thumbnail option is missing!? I can drag the thumbnail to the size I want, of course, but this all is just tedious.

I just noticed this, worked fine before. I had the Image Pop Up plugin installed (pretty useless for me) I thought it could be the cause, but no. Can some plugins mes something? Cause that’s the only thing it could be, i’ve only edited files under content/theme. Other blugins I have:
