10Web Photo Gallery images are being rotated

Hi, I’m using 10Web Photo Gallery and am encountering a strange error. When you go to the link above you’ll see some of the images are sideways. I made sure all of the images that I uploaded were rotated properly, but it seems the plugin is changing some of them on its own. For example, the first wrong image in the gallery is this one:

Is there a way to shut off whatever it’s trying to do here which is rotating images that are correct?

On iphone image profile upload the image rotates.

but I added this in my functions and it still happens.

Do anyone else have a fix for this – very annoying issue!

Sometimes there are som confusion regarding whats up and down on a picture. It might look all right when oploading, and thumbnails might be ok, but not on the pages. So I got several pictures with wrong rotation. Tried to fix it using the rotate function, but it seemed to only rotate at 180 and not 90 degrees. I then went to media pages and rotated the image with wordpress builtin “mediatools”. Still its orientation is wrong.
What do we do about this?

I am new to WP and this plug in, but having issues with not being able to rotate images once uploaded. Am I missing something or is this feature just not available with this plug-in.

No matter how the image files are rotated in any other software and saved, Picu imports everything as landscape oriented images. This means clients would have to tilt their heads sideways to preview portrait oriented images! There doesn’t seem to be any facility like that which is built into stock WordPress to re-orient the image via rotation. I understand the desire to separate the proofing galleries from the main WordPress media gallery, but the drawback is this pretty glaring problem. Has no one encountered this before? Does everyone only upload landscape oriented photographs or square ratio photographs?

Hi – thanks for this excellent plug-in. Everything works fine on both Mac and iPad but on iPhone adding an item’s photo results in its being rotated. Have you any idea how to correct it?

For some reason any images I take in portrait mode are rotated sideways on wordpress. I went in and manually rotated them, they look correct in the media library, but the thumbnails and the images on the actual website are still rotated no matter what I do. I am using my Pentax digital camera or my Android phone, both seem to produce this result. I tried a couple of the image rotation plugins recommended in other threads here, but they didn’t do anything. All of the posts regarding this seem to revolve round iOS, which doesn’t apply to my situation, and I really don’t want to have to reupload all of my photos if avoidable. There is a lot of talk about EXIF data but not many solutions other than the plugins I have already tried (both named “Image Rotation Fixer”).

Rotating Images creates new files but no new data in the table

If I upload an image (say its called img_1903.jpg) I get a set of files for this image automatically created by wordpress and I also get a corresponding row in the wp_posts table.

If when I’m inserting that image into a post I rotate it, using the built in image rotation functionality, then it creates a new rotated image with a name like IMG_1903-e1475142922987.jpg and a set of different sized images. But it doesn’t create a new row in the wp_posts table.

This means that if you use get_attached_file to get the file names of which images are attached to a post then it returns the original image file name and not the rotated image file name.

The urls inserted into the post are to the rotated image and not to the original.

I have some rotation issues with images from my Windows Phone taken in portrait mode that confuses me. The pictures look allright on my Windows 10 pc in most of the image viewer programs including Windows’ own, Paint, Picasa etc. Only in Microsoft Office 10 Picture Manager is it flipped to horizontal.

When I upload them to Media in WordPress (in both Chrome and MS Edge) they are flipped to horizontal. So I rotate the original to the right in WordPress, and now the pictures look fine in all sizes when inserted on pages and posts. However when clicking on the picture in the post linking to the original full size picture that picture is now flipped one time too many to the right. That is also how it works in Firefox but in Edge everything looks fine.

When I check the pages on an iPad with Safari and Chrome even the cropped and rotated images in the posts are in horizontal.

I have tried rotating the original on my PC with Microsoft Office 10 Picture Manager, but that just creates a new version of the rotation issue.

Tall images displayed sideways

I have been reading up on this issue and have been pointed every which way but forward.
I upload images to WordPress often. This did not happen in earlier versions – I believe before Jetpack or around the time Jetpack was being updated.

The images are often displayed rotated at 90 degrees. Some people say it’s exif information that needs to be deleted. I would like metadata included in my images.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
I even asked Tech support at Jetpack and they said the images were displaying fine for them?!!
