Dear Support Team,

How can I use AVIF images in Social tab (Open Graph protocol) on my own risk?

Now (Yoast v. 24.2) we get notice:
The format of the uploaded image is not supported. The supported formats are: JPG, PNG, WEBP and GIF.

AVIF thumbnail is shown in the editor, but URL is not attached in HTML output of (the default is used).

Uploading JXR files

Hi, I am tackling the loading time of our site and note that I can improve it if I convert the JPG/PNG images on our site to JXR files. When I tried to upload a JXR image file, it was not allowed. So I downloaded the WP Extra File Types plugin. Of the list of options JXR was not there, so I need to complete the mandatory boxes at the bottom of the list but I’m not sure what I should type here. The fields are:

Description: (I added ‘JXR next gen’ but don’t know if this is correct)

File Extension: (I added ‘.JXR’)

MIME Type: (I added ‘image/jxr’)

When I clicked ‘Save’, where I had typed ‘.jxr’ became highlighted in yellow and ‘where I had typed ‘jxr’ in the MIME Type field became highlighted in orange. And this new format wasn’t added to the existing list which means that I still can’t use it!

Does anyone know how I can upload JXR images without touching any code. I thought this plugin would do the trick. Many thanks in advance.

When I try to create an image-based popup, and then select a WebP image, I get an error that only image files are supported.

WebP is an image file. I can upload it to WordPress media library with no problems. But PopupBuilder doesn’t like it.

Will you be adding support for webp? Or is there a workaround to add a webp image to an image popup?

First thanks for the great plugin which really saves a lot of time for me.

However I have problems with importing .svg images. Also I read about problems with webp images.

So could you provide an overview of supported image formats?

WEBp Image file Support?

The entire website is using WEBp image file format for speed. As you can check the product page URL, the image size is too good. Product sync does not happen because Mailchimp does not support WEBp? We do not want to use jpg, png as it will make the site heavy, product page heavy.

Is WEBp image file support is in the pipeline or there is a technical reason of not supporting it?
