WordPress site I have searched and replaced a word string that is in all post media file names: “SEO-Chester-” to “SEO-Malaga”. all image file names begin with this, but now I have done so all the images do not display on the site or in the media manager – what have I missed, I thought changing the slug would be fine, though if I actually enter the old image URL with “SEO-Chester-” in the file name it actually displays! I am confused why this would be the case, can someone explain please?

SEO related Issue is that your plugin remove image name and using random string which is bad for seo.

Usually I try to add some seo keywords in my image file names. That helps a lot to get my images found via Google.

So for example one of my images get this URL:
https://dev.matjoo-digitaallab-kunstgalerie.nl/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/matjoo-digitalekunstgalerie-herseninfarct-pap-prikbord-brunswijck-2400×1350-1.jpg

Then using Optimole it turns into:

I had a problem with WordPress 5.3 feature of scaling big images, Then I uploaded Disable “BIG Image” Threshold plugin and my problem got solved

But everytime, When I upload an image to my site, the file name of image changes. For Example – filename.jpg becomes filename-1.jpg

How can i get original image filename and stop this?

Hi,

I am having a problem with a WP where the image file name when used after the domain name displays the image. For e.g.

domain.com/image-file-name

This should get a 404 error not display the image as if it was in a gallery with one image. Because of this I can’t make a page permalink with the same name as the image file name.

In addition to this 404 page is not displaying. It shows some content from a particular page with nothing else (no header, footer etc).

Not sure if they are linked.

Anyone come accross this?

Could Yoast SEO pro have anything to do with this?

How to change file name of an uploaded image

I can’t seem to figure out how to change the file name of an image once I’ve already uploaded it. When I hit Edit for the image, I can change the title and description, but the URL field is uneditable. I want to clean up some of these file names but is there any way to do this without reuploading (which I’d then have to relink everything) all the files? Thanks!
