Our site is getting 10x the results since we moved to Showcsae IDX from IDX Broker in 2020. We had very little organic traffic in the past and very few of the clients we sent to the site actually used it. Is our site where we want it to be yet? No but it is getting better every month. There is no comparison if you’re looking at Showcase IDX versus IDX Broker or others. The modern way they deliver IDX data and the home search is incredible.

I’ve seen some agents complain about not getting results or wanting vanity features like sold data. Let me tell you, this plugin works if you do.

Showcase IDX excels at lead generation and providing a search that consumers actually want to use.

I was stuck with a website using IDX Broker for years because one of the big real estate website shops forced it as their “preferred” option. Not sure how a subdomain IDX plugin could ever be the best option. That IDX Broker website cost me two years of time and money.

Since moving to Showcase IDX, the result have been incredible. My clients no longer sign up and then go use Zillow for the rest of their search. 2021 will be a great year thanks to a new website developer and Showcase IDX.

We have used this for some time on many client sites. It will usually remove the weird images you get for the icons in IDX Broker pages.

Subdomains on other IDX’s have been a pain in the butt. Google doesn’t seem to like those pages and you can’t get anywhere. This one has pages I can manage on my own and will actually rank. Plus my web developer says it is easier to customize for the features I need to compete with sites like my competition is using.

Swapping search bars?

So I have a theme I am modifying. It has a very nice search bar that I have got to work across 99% of platforms. However, this search bar only searches my site. I want to swap its ‘guts’ with my IDX Broker Omnibar so that I can turn my home page search bar into an MLS search.

I can get it part of the way there, but the search will lose functionality.
The issue seems to be that the IDX Broker omnibar is a part of the plugin, while the existing search bar is part of the theme. I am 99% this is possible to do, just not sure of the exact method to make it work how I want. Part of the issue is that the folder for the omnibar in the plugin is devoid of any php file, otherwise I’d just try to swap in a different file path and touch up the css. I’m not sure how it get’s called in since the typical implementation of the omnibar is via shortcode or widget area.

Any help in getting this to function would be greatly appreciated.

post permalinks not working good

Hello ,

We are using “IDX Broker WordPress Plugin”.We are quite happy as i is a very helpful plugin.

But we are facing one issue in it.

When I am creating a new post , the permalinks of this post is generating without
“hyphen” symbol .

And it is creating an issue.IF I deactivate your plugin then it is working totally fine.And if I again activate it , then this issue again starts.

I am using your plugin’s latest version on WordPress 4.1.3.

We are facing this issue on our live site.So Can you please reply Asap.

Update the wp_posts_idx table default collate

The IDX Broker plugin creates a table called wp_posts_idx upon activation. It would be really great if you could update the plugin to set the collate to match what WordPress defaults to using. Curently the IDX Broker plugin sets the table to use “latin1_swedish_ci” which is MySQL’s default, while WordPress defaults to “utf8_general_ci”.

I also suggest running an update function so all sites already using the plugin will get this update, not just sites installing/activating the plugin for the first time.

Also can you please look into setting up uninstall.php in the plugin to remove the table (and any options) when the user deletes the plugin.

IDX plugin does not look as expected

As you can see in the widget of the homepage, it doesn’t look right at all. I looked at your screenshots and was expecting something like that. Would you have any idea what might be happening here?

Never see this again not working

Hello,
We are running into a problem with the plugin that may be unusual. Our website is part normal wordpress but then also uses what’s called a global wrapper for some pages where we are using a 3rd party real estate plugin. For the normal part of the wordpress site if someone clicks on the pop up to never see this again it does go away. For the global wrapper if someone clicks never see this again it goes away for that page but comes back when after they click to go to a new page. It’s as if it resets for each page. I had to disable the plugin for those pages because I was getting complaints from customers. This is a page that would give an example of the custom subdomain pages with the global wrapper where we are having the problem.

When I asked people at the real estate plugin they sent me the message below. I’m hoping any of this makes sense. I love the plugin and I would like to use it again if I can figure out what’s causing the problem. Thank you!

“This plugin may not be able to set a cookie for IDX Broker pages. IDX Broker pages use a subdomain and or a custom subdomain. The plugin may have some cross domain issue in setting a cookie? Meaning you can make a pop up go away, but with out setting a cookie there is nothing remembering that you clicked “go away” when you visit the next page. I have never used this plugin so this is just a guess.”

If you have other options, use them. IDX Broker’s platform is very poor, and the customer service is even worse. It could be my expectations, but judging from the other ratings I seriously doubt it.
