I’ve tried putting in my blog address in the URL https://example.com/wp-admin/install.php and https://example.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php
Both come up with ‘HTTP 404 error’.
Can you help? Thanks.
]]>I’ve managed to install a sub-directory MU network hosted on Azure however when I add new sites and attempt to navigate to the dashboard I get the error “The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable”. I tried to copy both the root website and a clean install of wordpress.
– The first option gives me a database error.
– The second works, however the site home and dashboard isn’t recognised as a site within the network.
I have FTPed into the site after a new site create and there no sign of anything being added. I tried to change the wp-config.php and add a web-config file, both to no avail.
Even tired to add virtual applications and directories in the azure portal.
What changes / steps do I need to make to get this MU network up and running with getting the error mentioned above?
I’d like to setup a sub-domain network, but alas cannot for the life of me setup a wildcard DNS service or add sub-domains with my domain provider.
]]>Today, the home page gives a HTTP 404 error page, but all other website pages and posts work!
Home page: www.madisonkatephotography.com
Latest post: https://www.madisonkatephotography.com/shana-fresno-bachelorette/
As you can see when the page loads, all other pages work except my home page.
I have deactivated all my plugins one by one and re-checked, to no avail.
What is this madness?! Thank you in advance!
]]>My most recent post can be seen on my blog home page, but every link to the post directly now gets a 404 error. I’ve reset the permalink settings to the default, which fixed it, then I changed it to Post-Name. It worked, then a few minutes later died again.
My blog home page:
https://www.madisonkatephotography.com/blog/
I’ve just changed the permalink settings back to default, and it seems to be working…how would I go about changing the permalink to the post name without if giving me the dreaded 404?
Help!!
]]>We have been using the Feedburner service to help distribute our news to our subscribers.
However, since I changed my hosting plan from Windows Shared Hosting plan to the Linux Shared Hosting plan at GoDaddy, Feedburner and the Feed Validator.org both say there is an “HTTP 404 ERROR” while fetching my feed source.
Here is the Feed Validator results:
https://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=https://www.aspireaviation.com/feed/
Inextricably, my site’s RSS continues to be visible and readable on a web browser, when you point the browser to the URL of my site’s feed at https://www.aspireaviation.com/feed/
While I have contacted GoDaddy’s Customer Support, they say they cannot provide any detailed support on third-party application.
Meanwhile, regarding the permission on my WordPress files, including the “wp-rss.php” and “wp-rss2.php” has been set to “Visible” and “Executable”.
Could anyone provide any help? Or do I need to remove and reinstall my WordPress system?
Reinstalling my WordPress system causes significant service disruptions and is always my last resort.
Could anyone please help?
