Long-ago deleted page suddenly loading for blog page

A month or so ago, I deleted my then-current blog page and made a new one. Everything worked fine, until earlier today, when I noticed the dropdown selector to pick a blog page (Setting > Reading) was on “–Select–“, rather than the actual page. I set it to the now-current blog page and… the old page loaded when I clicked the blog link. The URL is the current one, but it’s the wrong page. If I reset the selector to “–Select–“, the correct page loads.
I have reset my CDN cache many times over the last week, since I just set it up. I have disabled all my plugins, multiple times. I have reset Elementor’s CSS many times. None of that has any effect, if I set the blog page.
Any idea why this might happen and if I need to fix it? Is there any problem with leaving the blog selector as it is, on no page?

Homepage settings in Neve Theme Customizer not visible

Good day,

I am having difficulty with the “homepage settings” on the Neve theme.
From the WordPress Dashboard >> Appearance >> Customize

Then “Homepage settings” should be between the “Widgets” and “Additional CSS” options in the theme customizer.

However, this is not the case. There is no “Homepage settings” tab visible for me to make edits.

I am unable to set my home page as the static landing page, and it has reverted to the sample blog post as the landing page.

Please could you assist me.

Theme doesn’t keep homepage settings

I have the home page set to the page called Home, and the blog page set to the page called Blog (sometimes in trying to make this stick I choose a page called Articles).

The home page settings will look sort of as they should in the customizer, but while the slider is on, it isn’t showing, and the category I choose for the fashion category doesn’t display either. Very strange behaviour.

Cannot edit whole meta title, just part of it??

This is a new installation of The SEO Framework. I am a newbie to this. I have updated WordPress, theme and plugins before installing this. When trying to change the meta title in settings, only the very first part of the title is overwritten (Our Family Forest). The rest stays there and just adds to the counter. I did not have this problem with the meta description.

Homepage doesn’t show latest posts

I’d appreciate any help that could be offered.

Despite selecting ‘Your latest posts’ for Homepage displays, my site continues to show a post from 2018 when anyone searches for my web address.

I removed all plugins and it still does it. Reinstated plugins and all are up to date.

Any ideas why it’s never shown my latest posts? Thanks for reading

Homepage main body, no images

Hi, I have spent a lot of time getting my site to look as I want it to. Only one problem, the homepage main body shows my recent posts, text only. I also want it to display first image along with text.
I really dont want to change the theme, any suggestions please.

On the Homepage settings in the Customize panel, any page that I select as homepage ends up as a Page Not Found result. I can select any page or can select the posts and all result in Page Not Found.

I received a reply indicating it was a third party theme problem, I changed and tried five different themes and all had the same error.
Also I deactivated all plugins and it still shows a “Page not found” error on the homepage no matter what page is selected to be the home page. Even if I choose to show pasts as home page then those show up as not found.

How to create another ‘carousel setting’ for a different section on homepage

Hey guys i’m a bit of a newbie with wordpress. I want to create another section that I can attach to my ‘Services’ section on my hompepage. Basically the same as what i’ve done with the ‘Our categories’ section on the website. On it will have pictures for each of our business services (under the services drop down tab at our top menu) that will link to that corresponding service. For example an event first aid picture, that, when the customer clicks on it, will take them to the event first aid services page.

Ideally if we could do this without paying for any crazy plugins as we’re on a bit of a tight budget.
