After adding the filter apply_filters( “set_screen_option_{$option}”, false, $option, $value ); on line 728 in the /wp-admin/includes/misc.php the screen option is not working.
For me, after using the same function for both of the filters it worked fine. But, is it the proper way?

I recently started helping a friend of mine with her website.
everything was working just fine until I noticed that media page, Screen Options and Help tabs were not showing up.
I read a lot of articles of people experiencing the same issues, but I can’t find the solution.
I need Screen Option to work in order to place a language switcher on the main menu.
I’m running the latest WP version and the latest Divi theme options. I’ve tried to disable all the plugins and switch to the default theme but nothing happens.

It’s very strange because the plugin qTranslate was deleted a while ago, when I started to redesign the website and replaced by polylang.
I’m not a code expert, can someone help me out?
]]>I’ve read several threads about this issue and tried all of the proposed solutions, these have included:
1. Deactivation of all plugins.
2. Deactivation of theme and activation of 2016 & 2015
3. Re-installation of WordPress through updates.
4. Manual re-installation (ftp) of WordPress, both standard & Gb-en versions.
5. Manual deletion of wp-admin & wp-includes folders and replaced with fresh uploads.
6. Bootstrap/jQuery/CSS fix proposed on Stackoverflow & here.
7. Increased memory to 120Mb then 256Mb
8. Deletion of theme and re-installation including child theme
9. Deactivation of all Chrome extensions.
10. Browser history deleted.
11. Tested in Safari & Firefox, still doesn’t work.
12. Logged out & in.
Anybody got any more suggestions or experienced the same?

]]>This week I took the approach further and developed a system for help content and documentation management. Any support content I create will begin on the WebTechGlobal website where I have a plugin to aid this process. The plugin generates the PHP array required to insert into my CSV 2 POST and add some of the help content as found on the site. Not all though. Just enough to help will be added for every feature and more detailed tutorials can only be viewed by visiting WebTechGlobal. The generated array contains links and video URL also.
In short some help text, a link and video can be added to any feature in CSV 2 POST (eventually all my plugins) without having to type the help content twice.

]]>I have the WordPress SEO Plugin Premium by Yoast on my website. The meta boxes appear on Edit-Post pages, but not on any Edit-Page pages. A few weeks ago the meta boxes appeared on both.
Now Screen Options and Help Tabs do not work on my Edit-Page pages. I click on then and they disappear. o Does anyone know how to correct this?
Yoast support advises that I deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like 2014 to see if the problem occurs. Should I do this? Afterward, can I switch back to my customized Agency theme and have everything as before?
]]>I have experienced the problem on two PCs and a Mac, using Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
I used the Script_Debug function and it did not solve the problem. Instead, all site pages were immediately unavailable.
I used the Javascript console in Chrome to find the following errors on a page I was editing:
Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined load-scripts.php:15
Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined g_auto_hyperlink_script.js:1
Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method ‘on’ load-scripts.php:152
Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method ‘datepicker’ post.php:2106

I also checked the “Analysis and Log files::Error Log” in my cPanel and found no errors listed for https://www.henchmanofsouls.com.
I’m guessing that the errors with the Javascript are also causing an extreme slowdown on the site.

]]>What I would like is for the Excerpt to appear in the Admin Panel, and the full body to appear in the Help Tab and the Instruction Manual.
At the moment I am accomplishing this by disabling excerpts and creating two notes – one for the Admin Panel and one for the Help Tab, but that is a pain to create and maintain.
Is there some way I can get this functionality, or can you put it as a suggested new feature – possibly some checkboxes in the settings panel.
(To be even better, in the Dashboard I would like to see the Excerpt with a link to the instruction manual to see the full post – but that would just be a nice to have).
