Header Image for Grimelda

Hello –

I’m trying to replace the header text in my Grimelda theme blog with a clickable image. I’ve had zero success. I’ve search through these forums and many others and just haven’t been able to get it to work. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I see header references in the styles.css and also code in the header.css. Not sure which to chance to add the image file to. The image file is named dailytraveldeal_trans.gif.

What makes a good Header?

I see so many pretty headers on the WordPress Themes and I’ve figured out how to change mine, but I’m not sure what to change it to.

How important is the header? Should I replace it with a picture and skip the words or have words on the picture? Where can I find some neat header images? How long/wide should it be to accomodate the different screen widths? What do you think about when you pick your headers for your themes/skins?

Any other tips on what makes a good header?

Hello, I’ve modified the default image for the header on my blog just to add a logo over on the left side of the header. (See https://blog.camplivingston.org/ to view the header in action)

I edited the style sheet to set the heading and description section to right align and set the padding for the right margin to 25px.

I’ved viewed the blog in Firefox, Netscape 7.2, AOL and IE. It looks fine. An end user writes that the header has a “distorted camp logo covering the word camp in the title.”

What have I done wrong, or is it an end user issue? I don’t see a problem with the header.

I really appreciate any feedback.

My header is too hot!

Any suggestions on how to make a part of, rather than the whole, header a hot-link? Preferably the jpeg itself rather than the whole div, as is the case with my site at the moment. The Reason: I can’t place other clickable items into the header if the whole header is hot. If the solution is to re-code without using divs, then so be it. Just hoping someone with more knowledge about this can confirm or deny…

I’ve been looking at css code for the past two days now and can’t seem to get my page to widen a bit to accomodate my wider header I added. I’m using the default Kubrick theme on WP 1.5 Can anyone direct me to the code I need to change? I thought this would be in #page or #header but nothing seems to fix it. Help!

Hello..i recently started blogging with a free wordpress blog provider BLOGSOME.COM and came face to face with the amzing WordPress. But now there seems to be problem with it. Last night i changed the header picture of the blog(my theme is Shaded Grey) from the control panel>manage>files>wp-layout.css( i cant directly access my files as they are hosted remotely on blogsome) file.This is what my header code now looks like:-

Notice that i’ve set a different picture that the default one in the header section. After doing so the header appears fine in IE. But it doesn’t appear in netscape like(opera) browsers or Firefox…Instead the default BLUE header appears again and again. I’ve tried erasing cookies,histories,caches and that sort of stuff> Everytime the new-header appears at IE but the old one is still appearing at other browsers. Can anyone help me out? I mean is ther another option somewhere which i should set-up to show the right header in Firefox and Opera??

I’ve changed the background colors in the Kubrick image files. Be interested in any feedback. Its your basic Kubrick theme… don’t expect much more from me as I’m not the code wonk that many of you are.

Free personalheader graphics

I’ve created some graphics for those who would like to replace the default Kubrick header.jpg with personalheader.jpg. These graphics are all original and are licensed under a Creative Commons license. I have tested them with a fresh install of 1.5 using the default theme.
Get them here.
Click on the thumbnail, click on the image. This will open a new window with the full size image. Now “right click > save as” to get the image.

There are even more for the CleanBreeze theme here.

Header Automatic Change

I would like to be able to rotate the kubrickheader from a bank of photographs with each refresh. This is outside the relm of WordPress program, it would have to be an add on or plug-in. Any ideas on how to go about this?
