I’m looking to setup Google Workspace emailing with my WordPress mutlisite setup. I’m self-hosting on a Linode VPS. I tried to follow the instructions here with no avail. I would ideally like to use SMTP relay if possible, which are found here. Every guide I follow uses a payed plugin (WP Mail SMTP), but I’d prefer to set it up myself if possible.

Google Apps / GSuite Invalid Login

I’ve just installed Postie but am having trouble connecting the self-hosted WordPress to email with Google Apps / GSuite.

I have…
Triple-checked the login credentials.
Tried IMAP and POP.
Ensured that the email account has IMAP and POP enabled.

I found this previous “resolved” support post but am unsure how it was resolved. @colinschwebke

I have checked the mailserver FAQ. Connections seem okay ( IMAP-SSL response is much more verbose but ends with “Verify return code: 0 (ok)” ).

Any clues? Thank you!

I am trying to use this plugin on a multisite install and it’s not working – I’m wondering if it’s because it’s multisite. I’ve tried both Google Apps and SendGrid, and neither work. Here’s the report with Google Apps:

This plugin is incredibly useful and works exactly as it says. It allows you to integrate your WordPress site with the Google apps installation for your organization, so that anyone editing pages and posts can pull files directly from their Google drive and link or embed them directly into the page. The video on the website explains each version of the plugin: free, premium, and enterprise, and the support from the developer was amazing. You need to install Google apps login plugin for the integration with Google, but the free version works well with this plugin.

Contact Form 7 Not Posting to Google Group Email Address (Google Apps)

I cannot get a contact form on this page https://fumcaustin.org/fumc-seeks-discernment-about-marriage-equality/ to post to an email address that is a Google group hosted by Google Apps. The email address is [email protected]. The form posts fine to an individual email, but not to one that is set up as a group. This email goes through the Google mail server after posting from our web server at Hostgator. Do you have any advice for me to fix this issue? I’ve read online about incompatibility with Google apps and Contact Form posts, but the posts were from several years ago so I hope there is a fix now.

Bug: Can no longer move backward through calendar

Hi,

I’m noticing a recent bug in the plugin, where if you move forward through a given calendar (say, from January forward to February or March), you no longer have the left arrow to move you back to January. This appears to be triggered by the WP 4.7 update, and only appears to affect calendars NOT a part of Google Apps. That is, I have clients who use Google Apps, and their calendars are working correctly. I was able to get the arrow to display with a bit of CSS, but the functionality still is not there.

Add “HELO” field (for Gmail relay)

If…

I am using Google Apps,
and I have the relay setup correctly but not requiring authentication,
and I would like to use my own “From” email address

then I need to add the HELO value to an domain associated with my Google App account.

I verified this by hardcoding $phpmailer->Helo = “”, and it worked;

So, it would be good if this can be a field in the official plugin.

This plugin works perfectly. It’s incredibly easy to use. It plays extremely well with the other plugins Dan has created and makes creating an online portal for your company amazingly well rounded.

On top of that, the support Dan has provided goes above and beyond. He’s been helping me make small customization’s to the plugins for more than 2 months now.

It’s rare to find products that work this well, and people who care to help as much as Dan does these days. I can’t say enough about Dan and this plugin!!!

I had problem with sending emails from GoDaddy hosted site to Google Apps emails. Problem is that Google is blacklisting emails from GoDaddy’s relay server, relay-hosting.secureserver.net.
I tried several solutions but this is the only one that works, and works great. Plugin comes with wizard for easy configuration, very good documentation and a link to video instructions on how to setup OAuth 2.0.
