Good features but buggy and poor support

I’ve been using this plugin for about 6 years. It has many good features and has mostly been a very good plugin for my client’s site which allows people to book consultations through the site. Nikola had always been very responsive in fixing problems and helping to resolve issues with the plugin. However, for over a year now he has refused to fix a bug that appeared in an update where he had changed/improved the back end user interface. This bug affects the selection of the day, date and time when creating appointments on the back end, and has been reported multiple times by multiple users, including providing documentation about the problem. The bug doesn’t make the plugin impossible to use, but does make it very awkward and confusing and should be reasonably easy to fix. His lack of support on this issue has been very disappointing and frustrating. I have stayed with this plugin for now, since my client’s site hasn’t needed to use it much for a while now, but if that changes I’m sorry to say I will be looking for a different plugin.

I have used both EventON and MEC extensively.

When I decided to launch a site that depended heavily on a calendar plugin I chose MEC because it is much more customisable than EventON.

But as many others have commented the support is terrible.

I have a major installation of the software and the site was effectively down after a bad upgrade and there was zero urgency in the support response.

There are several things to recommend this plugin. Customisation of display and Elementor integration being really good. BUT if you are starting out and if the event features is going to be mission critical for you, DO NOT use MEC unless you can do your own tech trouble shooting.

Free Version bring quite good features, Awesome!

Just started using this plugin and really like it. Had a little learning curve on setting it up but once I figured that out the results have been very good. Very good pre-sales support that promoted me to upgrade to next level.

UPDATE: Had another problem with a theme/plugin conflict. Support quickly got back to me with instructions on how to find and isolate the problem. Because of the clear instructions, I found it quickly and resolve the problem.

I have had the plugin for several weeks now and so far it has the feature set I need and integrates well with their other products (Event prime and Profile Grid).

They have a good set of documentation but there is so much of it when I was in a hurry I just put in a support ticket and they responded in a reasonable (by the next day) time and were very helpful. When I still needed clarification they did not ignore my follow up but responded quickly again.

So far my experience has been great with the plugin and the support.

I had to take on the build of our family’s hotel website as the original developer and host stopped developing and we wanted to keep it in house. The site had been built in Expression Engine which I’ve not worked with. I found this theme which looks similar to our current site and the events feature was what really attracted me as we had the same in our original site.

I’ve had to use support on a few occasions to help tweak the theme to my requirements and they have been helpful and sorted everything out quickly.

I highly recommend it.
