New users not being added to main blog in WordPress network setup

Running 3.1.4 in Network mode, subfolders (not subdomain). When a new user registers, they are not being assigned to the main blog/site (ID 1). If I look up the user in the User Management area, they have no assigned sites. If they attempt to log in after activation/verification, they are presented with the “Global Dashboard” with no sites listed. However, if they then visit the main site while logged in, they are suddenly added to the main site. From what I can tell from the documentation, new users SHOULD be added to the main site.

I do have debugging enabled currently and noticed the following when a user registers:

line 734 is where Wp is inside function is_blog_user(). When the new user activates/verifies their registration, the following error is thrown:

1863 is inside the function add_new_user_to_blog().

Any ideas on what might be causing this? I can start dumping additional debug data in those areas, but am hoping someone has some ideas that will save me some time in debugging this issue.

I want to create another blog and apparently need to log in as admin so I can access Global Dashboard. How do I log in as admin?

After 3.1, always redirect to the "Global Dashboard".

After I auto upgrade to 3.1, I can not enter each sub-site’s admin page.
it was redirect to the “Global Dashboard”.

anyone knows how to fix that?

No Access to Global dashboard, only to my .org Dashboard (Redirection)

Hey everyone,
I have a www.remarpro.com blog hosted on a private host. Yesterday I signed up for an account on wordpress.com to get my API for the WordPress.com Stats plugin. I got the API going to my Global Dashboard. Today I was trying to check my stats and the wordpress.com stats plugin prompted me to enter my username and password. I entered my wordpress.com user and pass, and it didn’t work, tried with the www.remarpro.com user and pass… nothing, still prompted me. So I deactivated the plugin and re activated it. It asked for the API again, so I went to WordPress.com and tried to enter my Global Dashboard to get my API again, the problem is that it doesn’t enter the wordpress.com dashboard any more, it redirects me to my private .org dashboard. I tried loging out of my regular dashboard, but when I try to log to the global one it asks for my username and password, but the .org ones, not the wordpress.com ones.
Any way to avoid this redirection?

subdomains and WordPress global dashboard

Hi everyone.
I’ve had a hosted wordpress.com blog for a while and I really like the amount of traffic I get from the wordpress.com community (as little as that may be ).

However I just moved over to a self-hosted blog so I can use the cool plugins and stuff. But how do I do this without losing the WP.com traffic? How do I mesh the WordPress.com blog with the self hosted blog so my post tags can show up in the global dashboard?

I mean, I know it can be done because I’ve seen self hosted blogs whose post categories/tags show up on the WordPress.com/tags list. I just can’t figure out how.

Anyone?… can ya help a WP noob out a little. (where it says “noob” please translate as: I have no idea how to write code, nor do I know techno-speak or jargon. Please keep explanations as idiot-proof as possible.)

Any ideas or advice is much appreciated.

New blog not listed in “Global Dashboard” “My Blogs”

WP 3 has a new way of getting the api key (if you don’t already have one, and I wonder if it causes this situation:

I just started a new test blog today with WP 3. I put in the api key from my wordpress.com blog. My other blogs are listed in the Global Dashboard “My Blogs” area, but not the new one. Previously, the blogs showed up when I put in the key.

How do I get my new WP 3 test blog to show in the WordPress.com Global Dashboard?

(For what it’s worth, I needed a test blog to figure out how to make a child theme so I can upgrade the themes for my other blogs to use WP 3 without losing my customization…..)

Duplicate Blogs’ entries on Global Dashboard

Hi WordPress,

I’m actually seeing duplicated entries of my self-hosted blog “whitespace.sg” on my global dashboard, is it possible to remove the inactive one or combine both the stats recorded? I think it has to do with me reinstalling the wp-stats plugin.

This should probably be https://www.ispithotfire.com/coding/wp-admin/

Is there any way to edit this?

In all the settings I’ve checked, I say my site is www.ispithotfire.com/

Problem Viewing Stats

I’ve got 4 WP blogs up and running, but in all of them I can’t view the Stats on the Global Dashboard.

Everytime I try it keeps on telling me that “I am not a member of this blog” even though I am since I set it up?
