Hello!
I am exploring Amelia for a German outdoor climbing park, which offers both booking for different types of climbing sessions (short and long routes) and the ability to purchase and send gift cards for these services.
Here are my main questions and inquiries about Amelia’s capabilities:
1. Booking System:
? Is it possible to offer multiple types of sessions (e.g., short and long climbing routes) with different pricing or restrictions (e.g., families with children under 5 may not book the longer route)?
? Can I require immediate payment for bookings, or is payment only optional at the time of reservation?
2. Gift Cards:
? Does Amelia have an integrated feature for selling and managing gift cards, does it offer customizable values and designs?
? How do gift card codes work in Amelia? Can I customize them to be either sent via email immediately after purchase, or printed and sent manually?
? Can gift cards be used as a payment method for booking services, and can I create specific restrictions for their use (e.g., limiting usage to certain sessions)?
3. Integration with Other Plugins:
? Does Amelia support integrations with WooCommerce, specifically for selling gift cards, or would I need to rely on separate plugins?
? What integrations have other users found useful for booking systems and gift card management?
4. General Feedback:
? Has anyone used Amelia for a booking site similar to a climbing park? How do you find the system works with managing both bookings and gift cards simultaneously?
? Any recommendations for additional plugins or add-ons that could enhance the experience?
I’m hoping to find the best solution for managing bookings and gift cards in one system, and I would appreciate any feedback or advice from the community!
Thanks in advance!
]]>I have been loving this plugin, but it has suddenly stopped working correctly with the latest updates.
When a user selects/inputs an amount for the gift card product and adds to cart, when viewing the cart the amount is either 0 or the default set amount and NOT the amount that the user input.
You can view the product via the link attached to this query – the product is live, but not shown in the shop.
I notice my site is set to add-to-cart using ajax but this product reloads the page after adding to cart. Perhaps that’s relevant?
Please could you advise if this is a bug or whether it’s a clash with other plugins (although I have tested with other plugins and themes deactivated).
Thanks
]]>Is there are proper solution for prepaid gift cards without this workaround? Namely, support for 2 or more payments at checkout?
Thank you,
Brian J
]]>For details on the expected accounting practice of gift card sales, please see https://www.accountingcoach.com/blog/sale-gift-certificates.
This request may require support for WooCommerce as well, as WooCommerce does not natively support multiple payment methods per https://woo.com/document/gift-cards/faq/#gift-cards-accounting.
]]>Here is a short guide on how to install and use:
Using MailPoet as the mailing plugin the emails are sent under the website name.
>>>>> Using WP mail (default) the emails were sent from WP mail service without the site’s name, the sender was WordPress. Not sure it matters to you.<<<<<
I hope this helps someone else, and the dev team.
Thank you very much for an excellent plugin. I highly recommend it.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, I have to change my review. It creates the credit but does not send emails. It has been over 48 hours and no email received on my test account. I opened a thread in the forum, waiting for a reply there.

This plugin works really well. Follow the screenshots for instructions on how to se up a credit and you will be very happy with it.
Now I’m waiting for the email notification. Hopefully it will arrive shortly.
I’m impressed!
