I’m having a commenting issue.
Shield keeps flagging some comments as Spam even when they are from people who comment regularly and are considered trusted commenters. The message I am seeing is [* Shield plugin marked this comment as “SPAM”. Reason: Failed Bot Test (expired) *]
The GASP checkbox is there, posting count down is set to 30 seconds, trusted commenter minimum is set to 3. I also had reCAPTCHA enabled for comments, but recently turned that off to eliminate that extra step.
I’m not sure what I’m missing or not fully understanding about the failed test bot expiry message. I thought the box was always showing, and so it must be ticked in order for a comment to go through.
Appreciate your time and assistance.

Can you tell me why this is? And why it is only now just happening the past two weeks on about a fourth of my commenters.

I do see the checkbox if I’m logged out and a quick test of normal form submission does require the checkbox to be ticked.
Apparently, there is some easy way around GASP the robots are using.
Server is running under nginx, in case that matters.
Here’s a post you can check test against:

I am experiencing the same thing on WP 3.6 on my other sites with all the latest version of GASP with various different themes and frameworks.
I must say this plugin works great when it is working. For about 6 months everything was lock-tight, until one day it quit working.
I even wrote a blog post about how much I love it and how well it filters SPAM.

]]>A couple of questions:
1 – Is this a stand alone function or does it work in conjunction with Andy Bailey’s GASP plugin?
2 – Is it possible to change the wording “confirm I’m not a spammer”?
Great feature of a plugin that just gets better!
